    Marquee and the Function onfinish

    Dears,

My case is that I am making a chat ticker, i am using marquee with direction right and loop=1, when i use onfinish() i am calling a function that retrives data from ana array, the problem that when the direction is set to right ..... every msg that is retrived from the array is looping twice not once exept the first msg, (Note that when i set the direction to left it works fine) please any suggestions.

Oh goodness. I haven't seen a marquee for years (disclaimer: Geocities sites excepted).

Do you have it nested inside a <blink> tag as well? On a bright blue background?

You realise it is an ancient proprietary extension which will only work in IE, and might be removed in future versions for not being part of a W3C standard?

    Heheh, I'm just kidding

If the scrolling effect is what you want you could do it with JS. Use a function called at a short interval to move the ticker and keep appending messages to it.

I have one question though - How do you get the messages? Is it live requests back to the site? If so, are you using something like AJAX or what?

OK, well I've never dealt with Arabic, did you have problems with the character set?

As for the messages - you say it works, how are you dealing with it now?

If the right hand side of the last message is to the left of the left-hand scroller cutoff point

Edit: if you're going left. if you're going right it's obviously the reverse.
