    How to manage source code

    After coding for sometime i have started to collect quite a numbers of source code for many of my tasks. Any suggestion on how to manage those source code, beside using code snippet. Should i create a datebase for those?

    If you have it, you can use Visual Source Safe to manage your projects and/or code. It also does versioning too.

    There are numerous source code control systems around. They really come into their own with team-based development but they are good for individuals as well. As Rob says, versioning is a big advantage. It's cool to be able to fix a bug in an older version without affecting your current code, or even having to leave the IDE to save copies fo the project, etc. Many SCC providers, including VSS, are quite expensive for an individual. There are simpler and cheaper options available though.

    thanks for the link, yea VSS is very expensive for me and i'm trying out some of the Free Source Code version control software. Actually the link that u provide have a lot of programs, do u have any favorite?

    I normally have a 'application' I build all my code snippets into it..... 1 form per example and I name forms by category...ie Data_SP....

    That way I can just load it and do search to see if I have working code for what I need.

    Please note I only add working code to the application

    I've never used any of them. In fact I found that page by Googling when I read your post. I've only ever used VSS and Macromedia RoboSource Control, which is packaged with RoboHelp.
