Arrow Moved: Any Ideas on how to make your own screensaver?

I was looking at neicedover1982's Sig, and he has an awesome Matrix Style screensaver written in vb6. I was wondering if anyone knew how to get started making your own screen savers in VB.Net.

Any push in the right direction would be appreciated.

EDIT: I reposted this in the .Net forums, since it is a .Net question. I don't know how to delete a post.

Well it's quite simple really. You code your program to where if the mouse moves, the app will exit, compile it to an exe, and change the extention .exe to .scr and there you have it.

Crushinator, thanks for the compliment. Sadly I did not program all of it so credit goes to my friend Peter also.

Does it go back to the desktop or does it turn off and the screen remains black? How long does it have to run before turning off? I have my monitor powering down after 10 minutes so I have never noticed before.

Thumbs up Re: Moved: Any Ideas on how to make your own screensaver?

I tried Kevin Cawley's matrix-style screen saver, and it's pretty good.

But i still think the best one is the one i use ..... previously posted here

    Tried mine? It's open source.

About screensavers: It's not that easy.. first make sure your program can't be started multiple times, in VB6 this is done with App.PrevInstance so find a equivalent in .NET... Second is the parameters you get when the screensaver is executed:

    /c -- Show configuration window
/s -- Show screensaver / same as no parameter
/p (handle) -- Running in preview mode (display settings window)
