[RESOLVED] [2005] Using DataGridView Without a Database

I think I want to use the DataGridView control for my project, but I don't have a database. I only have collections and arrays. I could put these into a DataTable if that would allow me to bind it to the DataGridView, but I don't know how to do that.

Should I just add rows to DataGridView as necessary, or is there a way to Databind it without having a database?

I don't have any experience with databases and would perfer to avoid them if possible.

Any suggestions?

I believe you can bind the array to the dgv. No db needed.

In 2003 you can bind a dg to a arraylist like so. Should be similar in a dgv.

dataGrid1.DataSource = arrayList1

I tried setting the DataSource property at design time and none of my arrays, etc came up as options so I assumed they wouldn't work. Now I see that DataSource requires an "Object" to be passed to it. I tried what you said and that works fine. I think I might put things into a DataTable and set that as my DataSource.

Actually, are there any other controls that have colums? I can't seem to find any.
