    Embedding Icon in .exe

When compiling a project, how do I embed an icon to associate with the .exe file?

Open your main form in VB and click on it.
Find the Icon property in the properties window and use it to assign the icon you want.

    Re: Embedding Icon in .exe

By default, the exe file will take the icon assigned to the startup form. So you can do what longwolf said, and assign the icon to the form that loads first. Or, if you use Sub Main as the startup, you can go to the Project Properties and choose another from from which the icon will be taken.

In any case, use longwolf's tip to set the icon on a form.

When I tried that, the program kept telling me that I'm trrying to use the wrong kind of file for the icon. I'm using a *.ico file. The ico file is a 256 color 16X16 format.
