    Resolved [RESOLVED] Combox Limitation

I have about 110,000 items to load into the combo box for the user to select/find. The combo box only shows half of the items on the drop down. But when I typing the last item, the data shows up on the control. Does anyone know how to solve this problem or there is limitation?

That's an awful lot of items. I would suggest trying to narrow that list down.

    Re: Combox Limitation

Are you sure you can fill-up a combobox with 110,000 items? I maybe wrong but I think it can only hold 32,767 items...

    Re: Combox Limitation

It can hold 65,535 items (an unsigned integers max value).

What code are you using for the find as you type?

    Re: Combox Limitation

I confirm the max items is 65,535. I have 1 column on the drop down and test with 3 columns and the # of items doesn't change. I will need to break them up as group. Thanks.

    Re: Combox Limitation

I didn't do any coding, the combo box handles it. I just get the value on the After_Update event and use the value to query the detail information.

    Re: Combox Limitation

You need to use code to load items into your combo.

    What are these items?

How could they be broken up into individual groups of items?

    Re: Combox Limitation

I bind the combo with a column from table. The item is a text with 11 characters. I am thinking about filtering the range for 3 combo.
