    Does anyone know if there is a way to make a
    password protected folder in windows?

    .inf files can be used to do this. You can probably find one on a CD or I could send you this prank program that does it. When you try to open C:\, you can have a custom message box come up saying something you want.

    well can i make it so when someone trys to open
    a folder in windows a password dialog comes up?

    try http://www.planetsourcecode.com - they might be able to help you out with the code to produce a program in VB.

    If not try http://www.zdnet.co.uk - they might have just the app!!!!!

    If you have PGP (http://www.pgp.com/) you can just encrypt the files you want to hide.
    I'm not sure if PGP is still free or not, the version I have is.

    If you are running Windows 2000 and are using the NTFS (New Technology File System) then you are able to password and even encrypt files and folders.
