Where are you storing the username and password? If it's a database,

    like this?
    VB Code:
    1. Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click
    2.         If Not (TextBox1.Text = String.Empty) Then 'username
    3.             If TextBox2.Text = "password" Then 'password
    4.                 MessageBox.Show("you entered correct password")
    5.             Else
    6.                 MessageBox.Show("invalid password")
    7.             End If
    8.         End If
    9.     End Sub
    hope it helps..
