Smile What can I do with this stuff?

I just inherited an MSDN DVD from a guy at work. Here's what its got...

    • Commerce Server 2000
    • Host Integration Server 2000
    • Exchange 2000 Enterprise Server
    • Exchange 2000 Conference Server
    • Application Center 2000
    • Internet Security and Acceleration Server 2000
    • BizTalk Server 2000
    • SQL Server 2000
    • SharePoint Portal Server 2001

With the exception of SQL Server, what is all that stuff used for?

I didn't inherit it so much as I knocked the guy down and took it from him. Got a spanish version of VS.NET, too.

Wow... so what's it like, the vs.net spanish version?

Do you have to type MensajeCaja for Msgbox? I'll bet the CDs came in a sombrero.

They were wrapped in a tortilla.

And I don't think I'll partake in that just yet. No habla, if you catch my drift.

SharePoint Portal Server 2001 is a web service software. Basically it allows you to create an indexing system for files on your computer. If you use it then the properties of a MS Word document become useful in a small way.

    Exchange 2000 Enterprise Server
    Exchange 2000 Conference Server
    - pop3 server & e-mail messaging - turns your pc/ server into a hotmail type server so people can get e--mails from it.

Internet Security and Acceleration Server 2000
    - bit like a firewall & meant to be far more powerful / have a load more options in.

    BizTalk Server 2000
    - Think it's a way of managing computers talking to each other, like dcom that kinda thing, but uses XML.

    SQL Server 2000
    - greatest database app in the world.

Can't think of the others - never use them so they're probably pretty crappy / not worth having. can you "inherit" any of his other dvd's he got?

I suppose it depends on what kind of hat.

Just do what you would normally do. Spray it and go about your business.
