Octets is the french name for bytes.
1 GigaByte (Gb) = 1024 MegaByte (Mb)
1 MegaByte (Mb) = 1024 KiloByte (Kb)
1 KiloByte (Kb) = 1024 Bytes
1 Bytes = 8 bits
Hope that help,
Regards

A little addition:
1 TerraByte (Tb) = 1024 GigaBytes (Gb) (Whoa! HUGE!)
1 Byte = 2 Words = 8 Bits
1 Bit = 6 Transistors
A transistor is something extremely small. It is not a piece of data, it is a piece of electronics found all over inside your RAM chips and hard disk drive. There are approximately 675,168,858,931 (six hundred seventy five billion one hundred sixty eight million eight hundred fifty eight thousand nine hundred thirty one) transistors in a 13.1 GB hard disk drive, and approximately 6,442,450,944 (six billion four hundred forty two million four hundred fifty thousand nine hundred forty four) transistors in those two small 128 MB RAM chips. How do they fit in there, and how are they placed? They are created in there. They never go out, they never come in. That's the way life is
