    VS 2008 Re: Build Time

One other test method that you could try would be to make a VM of the original server, put that on the new server and then try your build in the VM to see how long it takes there.

    Re: Laptop for student

Those specs are adequate. An i5 might be better, but not necessary. Screen, keyboard and available ports and connections should also be checked out.

    VS 2008 Re: Build Time

Server versions of Windows have more protections built into them. A simple test would be to run a test build on your 8GB RAM workstation. See what the build time is.

  11. VS 2010 Re: Inserting lot of characters into multiline textbox is very slow

With Notepad, you are opening text file that is stored on disk. Pasting from the Clipboard is another matter entirely.
  12. VS 2010 Re: Inserting lot of characters into multiline textbox is very slow

A Large Text File Viewer would not be likely to work as you are trying to do it. No one's monitor can display that many characters at once, and, even if it could, no one can read, scan, or memorize...

You could post the code you are using here. Although unlikely, there might be something we could see that could cause an issue with Windows 10. Was your old system on Windows 10 also?
  20. Re: Macros run slower and slower every time I run them.

Did you uninstall Office 365 before installing Office 2016?

What happens if you run the macro once, then close Word, re-open word, and run the macro again? Does it still run slower?
