    Re: Moving a picture box

    Here's a goofy "pick 4 cards" using no PictureBox at all. Just click on cards to pick them.

    As usual, the forum software converted that screenshot to a crummy bloated JPEG. Oh well,...
  2. Re: connect mysql server withouth connector

    Er, that would be "using a connector" and so not what was asked for at all.

    Re: Windows 10 DPI Scaling?

    As far as I know nothing has changed in the last 4 years. What's your idea of "latest?"

    I suppose it might be possible that GDI Scaling gets applied to more code detected as legacy than...

    WIA 2.0 Vector.Add() method slow

    For some reason Vector.Add() became ridiculously slow starting in Windows Vista.

    What is documented is that most support for non-still images (i.e. video) had been crippled because too many people...
  6. Re: Copying Formatted Text Out of a Rich Text Box

  7. Re: Access 2007 "Provider cannot be found" by VB6 after MS OneNote install.

    Probably true, though I do see people referring to a 15.0 (2016).

    It might also be possible to reinstall the 12.0 package without breaking 16.0, but I'd tend to avoid them all like the plague. ...
  8. Re: Access 2007 "Provider cannot be found" by VB6 after MS OneNote install.

    Are you really using both ADO and DAO in the same program? If so, why? Sounds like a mistake.

    One problem with the ACE formats is the instability over time. It sounds like part of your problem...
  9. Re: Microsoft PDF Printer - How do you set the file name and folder?

    You can do this, but you won't be able to use the Printer object.

    You specify the output path when calling StartDoc(), and VB6 calls StartDoc() for you when you make your first Printer.Print()...

  11. Re: [RESOLVED] Method '~' of object '~' fix

    No, the Data View window is entirely ADO based. It has to be, since it was added primarily to support SQL Server and for Jet or ACE it uses SQL-92 syntax in the Query Builder and other places such...
  12. Re: Method '~' of object '~' fix

    That error can crop up in many places. If you encounter it when starting VB6.exe it is usually due to a flawed add-in. The Data View window is not an add-in.

    Re: Filtered Recordset Structures

    It isn't as simple as that.

    In the degenerate case of the most expensive (client-side cursor) Recordset that's true. But in server-side cursor Recordsets there is a lot more going on.

    Here's a class wrapping most of the API calls used above.

    What else do you think assignment might mean?

    Yes, array assignment copies the values. Both should be dynamic arrays and of the same data type.

    Keep in mind the hazards of hot dog stand polychromatic user interfaces.

    Re: Frame

    "Selected" means something different from "on" (Value = True).

    An option group always has one member control "on" even in a group of 1 control.

    Re: Paint PNGs via DrawIconEx()

    Ouch.

    If you want to use any of the code above please note that in several cases there are bugs. The glaring one is where "UBound(Bytes) - 1" was used when it should be "+ 1" instead.

    Sorry...

  25. Re: What is the best way to use a Constant
