  4. Re: [RESOLVED] Corona virus, China major city lockdowns, etc.

We're going to, one way or another. The cost per dose is far higher in the US as opposed to developing countries. Therefore, they would be much happier selling third doses to Americans than selling...

I believe that's a innate response that allows the mother cat to carry kittens. It's not just cats, and it varies by individual animal. A gal I know had a pair of ferrets. If you picked them up like...

    Re: Post Race!

You just have long phase AC. It's alternating from on to off to on.
  7. VS 2017 Re: Execute SQL query entered inside TextBox control and display results in Datagridv

With ADO.NET, you create a connection as a first step. That's probably an OleDBConnection object, for Access.
  8. VS 2017 Re: Execute SQL query entered inside TextBox control and display results in Datagridv

There may be better ways to go about this. What you probably don't want to do is have the user be able to type in any string, and if it parses, execute it as SQL. That seems like a really bad idea,...

That's early. I'll bet you got a charge out of that.
  12. Re: How soon may I have to give up VB.net (and VB6)?

Yeah, if you're so old, you also remember all the predictions that Apple would off DOS, Linux would off Windows, SCSI (being clearly superior) would replace IDE, and so on. You also probably realize...

Yeah, I've never heard that before.

You got a new roof that fast? That's impressive. I would expect a bit of a waiting list. You must have some connections.

Re: SaveAs() turn file to read only

Ctl+Alt+Del will take you to a screen which has the Task Manager as an option. There are likely other ways to get to it, but that's the one I always remember.

It's a very good thing to look at....

    Re: TwinBasic

That may just be you, actually. For some reason, I tend to find VB.NET examples even when looking for C#. MS tends to put out both, often on tabbed pages, but I wonder if Google doesn't have a hand...
  21. Re: How soon may I have to give up VB.net (and VB6)?

That's just a bit more tea-leaf reading. Xamarin wasn't an MS technology, so the fact that it is in C# has to do with those who wrote it, not MS. You may have a point when it comes to ASP.NET, or you...
  22. Re: [RESOLVED] Corona virus, China major city lockdowns, etc.

That's an interesting point. The counter weight to that would be the incidence of MIS-C and other issues with COVID in children:

CPU shortages? How did we bring this back around to computers?
  26. Re: [RESOLVED] Corona virus, China major city lockdowns, etc.

Yeah, I agree with you there. If you are vaccinated, you can still be a vector, and there is some slight potential that you are a BETTER vector for a variety of reasons, some of which were covered in...

I don't see the value of the comma separator. Seems more likely to cause confusion than anything else.

The bottom line is that we never know where things...
  31. Re: [RESOLVED] Corona virus, China major city lockdowns, etc.

That one states that we should get more people vaccinated. The vaccine doesn't prevent you from passing on the virus...just greatly reduces your chance of getting sick from it.

Re: [RESOLVED] It's ok if you know

No, and there never will be. It is relatively easy to write introductory books that cover the basics. Once you get beyond that, the potential topics expands at a hyper-exponential rate. Entire (very...
  34. Re: Why can't Enum of VB6 be a string?

JavaScript is so popular because it's the only game in town for traversing the DOM in web programming. If web wasn't so popular, I doubt JS would even register. I also think that JS could be...

The truth is horrible anyways. We have 600,000+ dead, and the ones who are dying now don't have to be.

  38. Re: [RESOLVED] Corona virus, China major city lockdowns, etc.

Uhhh...I'm not sure I understood much of any of that, but 10-20,000 deaths sounds reasonable to me. I would guess that the deaths attributable to the vaccines fall somewhere in there...as long as you...
