    Re: File Association Problem

It sounds like there is a problem with the filename. You should show what the filename variable contains at such time the error occurs.
Bad filename or number almost always a problem with the path...

    Re: Save Form Results

I was hoping the OP would listen and use a better method, like external file or DB and avoid adding even more clutter to the system registry.

    Re: Save Form Results

I really hate it when programs use the registry to store stuff like this, The registry is already so bloated that the last thing it needs is a bunch of user entered data added to it.
    Use an external...

    Re: Save Form Results

Yeah you should be using an external file or database to save this type of info. Then of course you need code to read that data and place it into the controls where it should be.

    Re: Run Module

Well your question is confusing as you indicate that you want to load it from a dropdown list on form 1 but then indicate that you want to do it from a module with just a msgbox. Either is possible...
  7. Re: [RESOLVED] read content in richtexbox line by line and save in c:\mydir\test.txt

Been a long time since I used it, the rtfText on the end made me think it was calling for rtf format.

Re: listview background in subitem color

Still banging your head against the wall using a listview instead of a proper grid control I see. While almost anything is possible listviews are not designed for this type of usage. Flexgrids are.
  9. Re: ComboBox results linked to specific Form

Select case is pretty simple and is easy to find examples of how to use it, all you have to do is look.

    Select Case Combo1.Text

    Case "Site 1"
'some code here to do what you want in that...
  10. Re: read content in richtexbox line by line and save in c:\mydir\test.txt

Doesn't that save it in rtf format?
  11. Re: read content in richtexbox line by line and save in c:\mydir\test.txt

Why write it line by line? Why not just write it all at once?

    Print #1, Richtextbox1.Text;

the ; on the end prevents the print statement from adding a crlf at the end
  12. Re: Question: Forum/mattermost/Facebook - Why aren't we out there?

You seem very quick to accuse others of lack of knowledge or lack of experience.
The fact is that screen shot you shared does not have any reference on it that I see to anything called mattersmost...
  13. Re: Question: Forum/mattermost/Facebook - Why aren't we out there?

Another reason is that many VB6 coders are older and have no interest or time for chat boards. I used them a lot back in the mid 90s phone calls were expensive back then so I often talked to some of...

    Re: Windows 11 coming soon

Just so you know and OS is software that you can install on a system that has nothing on it. It is not something that installs under Windows like programs built in VB6 do.

    As mentioned earlier if...
  15. Re: Question: Forum/mattermost/Facebook - Why aren't we out there?

Well it is interesting that some people still like the chat programs, I don't like to use them anymore. I prefer to use tools like skype, teamviewer, email, instant messaging or just an old fashioned...

So it's a chat system? hmm I thought those had pretty much died out about 20 years ago ;)

  20. Re: Question: Forum/mattermost/Facebook - Why aren't we out there?

mattermost? I have never even heard of that. Facebooks comment system does not exactly lend itself well to the types of things one would post here. I like what we have here much better.
  21. Re: How to pass variable to other Function/Function return a response?

I tried to load your project but it has references to objects that are not on this system so can test it.

I do see some issues with your function though.

    Re: Windows 11 coming soon

I have Windows 7 on the machine I use for VB6 and VS2008, Windows 10 on my other machine which I also have vb6 on but rarely use it on that one. Mostly use C#, VB.Net and B4X on the Windows 10 box.

    Re: Change Event of Textbox

But you can easily do that with a variable and a conditional test. If you are going to be calling it from multiple places just create a little sub.

  29. Re: About some work on this project of mine. Warning some periods of highs and lows

Well.. I guess some people may like flash games, I certainly am not one of them. 20 years ago they seemed like they may have the potential to be cool but they never made it.
  30. Re: How to pass variable to other Function/Function return a response?

What did you try "this" means nothing without the code it refers to.
  31. Re: About some work on this project of mine. Warning some periods of highs and lows

It may be possible to get it to work but why would anyone bother? That is a lot to go through to get an inferior product to work. I personally have never liked flash, always thought of it as slow and...
  32. Re: Explanation of bi-dimensional Arrays ... Please!

The index can not be a string. It must be a whole number. so "1.3" is not valid 1.3 also is not valid.
  33. Re: Explanation of bi-dimensional Arrays ... Please!

The part within the () when dealing with an array is the index. This must be a number.
  34. Re: [RC6]Install,Is RC6 unable to register under XP system?

  35. Re: Explanation of bi-dimensional Arrays ... Please!

    You need a dynamic array

    Dim MyArray() as long
    ReDim MyArray(MySize)

do not try to use single and double as array names, both are reserved.
