    Re: Server Side Storage

I am not using ASP.NET Core - I'm just using VS 2019 against IIS with .Net 3.5 (I'm using old SDK's for things like OpenXML).

I have a Global.asax file that VS gave me that has all kinds of SUB's...
  3. Re: How can i return json without decimal points

That data with decimal points can be "quoted" like the string values are. It is expecting an integer value for those unquoted numeric values.

How do you control the "quoting" of some fields over...

    Re: Server Side Storage

There are several methods on the server to hold data - I use the APPLICATION pool mostly. Since I need that pool to persist data, I trap the APPLICATION end event and "write" that pool to a text...

  10. Re: Allow users to build WHERE clauses

Wow - thanks to @GaryMazzone, I now know that sp_executeSQL can handle "parameters" in the string variable - very nice!
  11. Re: Allow users to build WHERE clauses

This needs further investigation - thank you very much.
  12. Re: Allow users to build WHERE clauses

That is kind of my exact situation.

How do you pass a random bunch of parameters to the SPROC?

Or do you just allow a series of SPROC params to be used - like @SelectCol1, @SelectValue1,...
  13. Re: Allow users to build WHERE clauses

I could offer this as an immediate soluion - novice users would fail quickly.

  14. [RESOLVED] Allow users to build WHERE clauses

I need to allow users to build a WHERE clause.

Basically I am in a STORED PROCEDURE that allows any table to be selected from - by specifying the table name in a parameter to the SPROC. The SPROC...

What type of SQL are you using? MS SQL? MySQL?

    Do you dislike making VIEW's?

Are you comfortable working with sub-queries and deeply nested queries?

Re: Very complicated but perhaps possible!

This can be done with a single query - here are the "steps". I would do it in a SPROC, with a temp table or table variable so it's easier to read.

If that is not possible then each "step" either...
