Re: What song are you listening to right now?

Well, the reason i started to listen to "other" music (and actually liking the odd song, i mean.... come on... 2PAC's "California Love" is a brilliant song),

Re: How to enable REGEX for RC6 SQLite?

No idea, since i never used RC6, but wouldn't surprise me, since SQLite offers to use custom Functions --> https://www.sqlite.org/appfunc.html

since SQLite is written in C, it's probable that the...

Re: How to enable REGEX for RC6 SQLite?

Might be, but wouldn't have anything to do with OP's question.
OP's question is about using the REGEXP-Operator/Function within SQL-Statements.
And in DB Browser's case i'd guess they compiled the...

Re: How to enable REGEX for RC6 SQLite?

Correction: Not compile sqlite.dll, but compile the regex.dll-extension yourself, and then load the extension

Re: How to enable REGEX for RC6 SQLite?

Or compile the sqlite.dll yourself enabling the RegEx-Extension.

If you download the source-code for sqlite, you'll find a folder "misc" in the folder-tree beneath "ext", and there is "regexp.c"

Re: What song are you listening to right now?

First off: Metal is not Rock is not Metal.
    Confusing? Yes.
Problem: The Definition of "Metal" has changed through time.
e.g. --> A lot of people think Motörhead "Heavy Metal".
    The thing is: Lemmy...

Re: How to enable REGEX for RC6 SQLite?

because Regex in SQLite is a application-defined function, which DB Browser has implemented

  10. Re: I have my GUI concept but am unsure how to structure/implement my database

Here is an example based on your data (I've taken just the rudimentary stuff)

For looking at SQLite-Databases i use DB Browser for SQLite: https://sqlitebrowser.org/dl/
    Just take the standard...
  11. Re: I have my GUI concept but am unsure how to structure/implement my database

You'll find it very often, that...
  12. Re: I have my GUI concept but am unsure how to structure/implement my database

    To get you started:
“Subject“, „Class“ and „Crystal System“ have their own (simple) table.
“Name“ (obviously) goes into „stone“ as well as any numeric value („Hardness“ both) and the „magnetic“...

    https://www.sqlshack.com/working-with-sql-server-rowcount/
have you tried to SELECT @@ROWCOUNT immediately after your Insert/Update/Delete and check that value?
  14. Re: I have my GUI concept but am unsure how to structure/implement my database

Tg answered the points for 1) and 2)

For 3): you have to differentiate between how you display your Data, and how your Data is structured (tables, columns, primary keys, foreign keys etc.)
    e.g....
  15. Re: I have my GUI concept but am unsure how to structure/implement my database

    1) SQL is not a Database-System. It's the "Query"-Language. Or did you mean "Microsoft SQL-Server"?
    2) Ask yourself the following questions: Who is going to use that program at any time? Just...

And did you try that on your time-field????
EDIT: and if you wanted to insert current system-time, you could do it from within the SQL. No need for parameter

    Re: Issue with SQLite DB

agree with tg: there is no DateTime type in SQLite (as well those other „Xxx char“ - SQLite ignores those sizes and assigns TEXT), but there is an affinity. Meaning: SQLite will still recognize it,...

I've seen Rammstein in the early "00" in what you would consider "small" venues (capacity some 5-6K people)

    Scorpions and...
  21. Re: SQL Server Query - count if any rows have a certain value

You have two „then“ after the coalesce
  22. Re: SQL Server Query - count if any rows have a certain value

    OK, my Mistake.
    Remove the LAST GROUP BY

and EXTPRICE comes from P21, so here goes

    SELECT M1.SONumber, COALESCE(IIF(M2.CountS>0,0,M3.EXTPRICE), M4.SumPrice, 'Ooops') AS Result
    FROM Jobs AS...
  23. Re: SQL Server Query - count if any rows have a certain value

OK, i've cleaned up my code a bit

I'm assuming EXTPRICE and ITEM are a Columns of Jobs.
If it's somewhere else, do tell.

    -- zvoni's way:
    SELECT M1.SONumber, IIF(M2.CountS>0,0,M3.EXTPRICE)...
  24. Re: SQL Server Query - count if any rows have a certain value

    That‘s the part i don‘t understand:
in which table is disposition now? In jobs or in this P21?

    edit: ah, ok, got it.
    just qualify disposition with p21
    ….. p21.disposition inside the subquery
    ...
  25. Re: SQL Server Query - count if any rows have a certain value

    Ok, missed that.
  26. Re: SQL Server Query - count if any rows have a certain value

    Have you tried my solution?
adding the sum of EXTPRICE in my query is not black magic

btw: your query doesn‘t correspond with your task.
“if there is a line with S in disposition return 0...
  27. Re: SQL Server Query - count if any rows have a certain value

Agreed. Missed that one (SQlite doesn't complain about such stuff).

As i understood it, there can be only one row with...
  28. Re: SQL Server Query - count if any rows have a certain value

eh... No.... EQ_Port is in Column ITEM
  29. Re: SQL Server Query - count if any rows have a certain value

    Tested in SQLite.
    Syntax might differ to SQL-Server

    LEFT JOIN
    (SELECT SONumber, COUNT(disposition) AS...

    Re: Update table with CTE;

I don't think it has to do with/without CTE
More with: Those are distinct commands sent to the Database, and the Database has to execute them separately (each command has to be executed for itself)....
