    Re: About array

Obsolete: not in use any more, having been replaced by something newer and better or more fashionable.

I prefer to use classes, because with UDTs as long as you need to do somthing more than just...
  3. Re: How to check if a handle of a GDI object (a pen or brush) is valid?

Yes, thank you The trick, and you are right that the handle could have been reused.
The idea was to quicly check if a brush was not destroyed, and GetObject might work but I think it will have an...
  4. How to check if a handle of a GDI object (a pen or brush) is valid?

Suppose that I create a brush that its handle is shared with third party code that is not under my control.
How could I know at a given moment if the handle is still valid or somewhere in the third...

    Re: Windows 11 coming soon

Three options: 1) My computer is fast enough, 2) I was lucky that it always did that at times when I wasn't at the computer, 3) It was slower but I didn't notice because I was doing tasks that didn't...

  9. Re: memory access in Win32, win64 and general memory access

    Memory chips pin count:

    DDR: 184 pins
    DDR2: 240 pins
    DDR3: 240 pins
    DDR4: 288 pins

That must point to some parallel fetching of bytes.
  10. Re: Advantages of grouping everything in EXE

A single exe has the advantage of portability, but you can also do portable programs that use ocx/dll.
But if you do them with a single exe the advantage is of course that it is only one file.

    On...

    Re: save project addin

May be, each one does it in the way he is used to do. There were times that I forgot to save and the IDE crashed and I lost what I've done, but not many.
Sometimes I do lot of tests without saving...

  13. Re: memory access in Win32, win64 and general memory access

I mean if when copying from the RAM memory module to the CPU cache, it is done per single bytes or several bytes at once (in parallel)

Re: EDID info and hMonitor handle

    Mine the same:

Brightness, contrast, gamma, temperature and R, G, B separately.
  15. Re: memory access in Win32, win64 and general memory access

Yes, thank you Shaggy Hiker, that makes sense.
And when it moves a RAM block to the cache my guess is that it must be several bytes per operation, not byte by byte.

I don't think that monitors have saturation functions, I never saw that.

Here you have a list of Windows functions: Monitor Configuration Functions.

But there "Универсальный монитор PnP" seems to be right.

What I don't understand is why the MsgBox could have a problem but at the same time Debug.Print can work fine.

  28. Re: Reading formatted text from database varchar field to RichTextBox

Yes, it is incorrect, but it seems that the RTB is forgiving, it seems it detects it is RTF code and treat it as such.

    The correct is:

    rtbComplaintHistory.SelRTF = rtbComplaintInput.SelRTF
    ...
  29. Re: Reading formatted text from database varchar field to RichTextBox

  31. Re: Reading formatted text from database varchar field to RichTextBox

This RTF text is malformed, not valid.

You should take the rtf text from the .TextRTF property of a single control and don't concatenate anything to it.
