  1. Re: Getting the ball rolling. Which VB6 projects are you working on?

The third? Perhaps I am being overly optimistic but I always feel that right at the last moment, just when no-one is expecting it, 64bit OlafBasic will be announced to the world.
  2. Re: Getting the ball rolling. Which VB6 projects are you working on?

I have a level of trust in Carles and what he wants to do. He has had some technical challenges, some financial challenges and a team to build. We are all overly optimistic from time to time but he...
  3. Re: Getting the ball rolling. Which VB6 projects are you working on?

Crikey, love to see some images of that.
  4. Re: Getting the ball rolling. Which VB6 projects are you working on?

On VB6 I am tinkering with my projects, fixing tiny UI bugs and adding new functionality only when it can be achieved within 30mins. This is due to life being a bit full.

    I can't quite believe it...

    TwinBasic/RadBasic!
  6. Re: new versions of vbrichclient (rc6) not support xp ?

    Almost English!

Sorry to be cruel but you will find it much easier to obtain help if you can be precise in your language. Don't use slang if you are an English speaker. Coders are expected to be...
  7. Re: Average age of people on this forum

This thread mentions Digital Equipment Corporation. Therefore, it is a good thread.
  8. Re: Average age of people on this forum

My age and my year of birth are the same. My year of birth is the same upside down.
  9. Re: VB6 GDI+ QUESTION: Detect Readiness of GDI+ ?

Quite correct, that is what I will do. I thought about booting another o/s (Bart's) and doing that way but recovery mode will do the job. I will investigate shortly.

    Oh yes, I thought about...
  10. Re: VB6 GDI+ QUESTION: Detect Readiness of GDI+ ?

I tried! Bloody Windows, I am the owner, I have full access. Windows just does not like me.
  11. Re: VB6 GDI+ QUESTION: Detect Readiness of GDI+ ?

    Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
    The key is SteamyDock
The value is "C:\Program Files (x86)\SteamyDock\SteamyDock.exe"

My other VB6 programs are run from...
  12. VB6 GDI+ QUESTION: Detect Readiness of GDI+ ?

I have a dock using GDI+ written in VB6. Runs well, has autostart using the registry. Functions well on all versions of Windows that I am able to test (win Vista, 7, 8, 10, 32 & 64bit). The dock...

    Re: Embedding .bmp in App

Might be wise to raise this latter item in a new post with an appropriate title.
  14. Re: OpenSource Image Librarian Just released

OP. If it had been written in VB6 I would have dived in and explored your application.

In general this forum is for assistance, constructive criticism and code review. If you had posted some of...

    Re: Charts controls with GDI+

Crikey - superb gauges! I really want to do mine now in VB6.

With regard to GDI+ leaking, I'd love to see a separate thread on that. My program is leaking like a sieve with only one hole, ie....

Re: Windows 12: Joke or Truth?

A realisation in me that practically ANY modern PC with a quick Intel generation 4 processor (in addition to an SSD and a decent amount of RAM) runs any VB6 compilation phenomenally quicker than in...

Re: Windows 12: Joke or Truth?

For me, the decision not to move from Win 7 as my main Win development workhorse was a good one. 64bit stability and familiarity and it works. Nothing that is in Win 8 or greater feels 'essential'. ...
  20. Re: [twinBASIC] Dump all file properties/metadata visible to Explorer to text file

    VERY good. Thanks.
  21. Re: [twinBASIC] Dump all file properties/metadata visible to Explorer to text file

Do you fancy making a VB6 version so that the greater world at large can see the differencies between a VB6 and a TB implementation of the same program? It would be useful as a reference and a guide...

  23. Re: Finding UK Car Details Online from DVLA

It is rather costly when using their API to look up hundreds of car details. If you were writing a speed cam application to monitor a sample of road speeds on a particular stretch of highway and you...

  25. Re: Why doesn't this work any more ?

Another one of your cryptic subjects on your forum posts... I realise now you will never learn.

    "Error Yaddlethorpe help!"
  26. Re: Stop / Starting Outlook via VBScript

HELP; You need to be more specific in your post titles and in the initial description of your problem. Be terse but precise and get straight to the point. Too many distracting words only confuse.

  27. Re: ECMA group for BASIC - who would you nominate?

I would invite some of the QB64 chaps but as they are known as a disruptive and argumentative crowd, it may be best to only offer them associate membership only.
  28. Re: ECMA group for BASIC - who would you nominate?

I will spelunk without knowing what that means. I think it may be messy.
  29. Re: ECMA group for BASIC - who would you nominate?

Yes, I'd agree with that. It would be useful to act as a bulwark against imposed changes that 'feel' wrong to the community. We know how MS can hijack a product and then destroy it from within. If we...

    Re: Right language(s) to learn?

Assuming you might have posted elsewhere on this forum, it seems that VB6 is having some sort of resurgence due to TwinBasic/RADBasic and it might be the perfect learning tool, a step upon a ladder...
  31. Re: ECMA group for BASIC - who would you nominate?

  33. Re: New to VBScript - VS 2022 for editing/debug

You are in danger of overloading this thread. The title is "...VS 2022 for editing/debug" but it actually pertains to using and debugging VBscript in VS 2022 whilst you also have scripting issues....
  34. Re: ECMA group for BASIC - who would you nominate?

I'll get the ball rolling then.

  35. Re: New to VBScript - VS 2022 for editing/debug

Someone will help you with debugging the vbScript in VS2022 but you could well debug it in VB6?
Perhaps instead use the Windows scheduler to run a simple batch file to do the copying instead? That...
  36. ECMA group for BASIC - who would you nominate?
