you can shell to the CD but you have to install the app that is shelling to it, is what i meant

saving this all to an exe to run from a CD won't work very well, in order for you...

i'm sorta at a loss, if your not trying to set or copy in the custRef field then it shouldn't be able to do that, grasping for straws but try running the Compact and Repair utility from the database,...

take it out of your .AddNew statement, and make sure in the database the autonumber field (custref) properties are set to

Field Size = Long Integer
New Values = Increment
Index = Yes(no...
