Re: Timed Loops to Simulate Hertz

I didn't try the code or look at it in detail.

Just looking at the Get_Elapsed_Time function, the code doesn't seem to make sense.
    You're subtracting last_time from current_time, but since...

Did you find that in post #4?
  4. Re: How to use a specific portion of an image as the form background

    Well, he did mention bitblt...
And I assume he didn't want to have to crop the original image to make a bunch of different images to load.
But, a movable picturebox would work as well.
  5. Re: How to use a specific portion of an image as the form background

At startup, I would create a bitmap and load the large image into it.
Create a second bitmap of whatever size you want and then draw into that bitmap the portion you want from the first bitmap.
    You...

Re: HexBox Control? View .bin file as ushort?

Well, I guess check for an option indicating you want to swap, and just loop through the array and swap the bytes before the Buffer.BlockCopy.

Re: HexBox Control? View .bin file as ushort?

I guess the question there is why?
The code you provided in post #11 doesn't swap the bytes before joining them into a ushort. It may look like it does, but it doesn't.
    Is it possible the editor...

Re: HexBox Control? View .bin file as ushort?

If you want Niya's code to display decimal padded to 5 characters as the editor does, then change the one sb.append to pad the number with 0's and not convert to hex (no "X4")

Re: HexBox Control? View .bin file as ushort?

UInt16 and UShort is the same thing.

Niya's code was creating hex string representations of the 16-bit integers, which is what you were talking about, i.e. an editor representation.

    Your code...
  11. Re: Is it possible to get an example of how to drag an image from ?

But that is a library, not built into VB6 directly, but that could be splitting hairs since most all programming is a matter of interfacing with code in libraries.

    Even so, interfacing with a...
  12. Re: Is it possible to get an example of how to drag an image from ?

The word "model" is meaningless for VB6.

The word "surface" is meaningless for VB6.

    Dragging an image is vague.
VB6 has image controls and picturebox controls which can hold images and be...

  18. Re: draw a transparented image to form background (vb.net)

Re: [RESOLVED] Why can't Enum of VB6 be a string?

My "two cents" on the original post, enum is short for enumeration, which literally has to do with the numeric value of something.
So an enum is used to convert a string of characters in code into a...

  25. Re: How to prevent the taskbar from changing color?

  26. Re: Reading and editing a binary file as a array of Ushorts?

Since length is the number of bytes, and you're reading two bytes at a time, shouldn't that be "pos += 2".
If the file is 100 bytes long, you should be doing 50 reads, not 100.

    I don't understand your comment.

If you wanted the code in VB.Net, I might whip it...

  30. Re: How to get the coordinates of the 4 corners of a coaxial rectangle on the circle

  35. Re: Please Please help with this API : CertFindCertificateInStore

Which confirms with what I said, i.e. WORD = 16-bits, DWORD = 32 bits, QWORD would be 64-bits.

That is a true for Windows and DOS, but...
  36. Re: Please Please help with this API : CertFindCertificateInStore

I'm wondering if instead of a Long they should Integer or IntPtr. If the original code was VB6, then a Long would be 32-bits, which would be an Integer in .Net.
  37. Re: TransparentBlt problem in Windows 10X64
