Re: [RESOLVED] READ part of string

Well I would need to update the documentation which I haven't done yet. That needs a little time because I made other changes between version 2.6 and this new 2.7 with that Offset parameter.

Re: [RESOLVED] READ part of string

If you have control over the file's precise format then you can get away with simple parsing. Nothing wrong with that, just don't cry if the wheels come off your wagon later.

    I looked at my...

    Re: READ part of string

Don't forget that this is pidgin-JSON. Not legal JSON but it probably still follows the syntax otherwise.

As such you must deal with whitespace (blanks, LF, even CR and TAB), each object's...

    Re: READ part of string

It doesn't appear to be a legal JSON document, but instead a series of anonymous JSON objects that were jammed into one file.

You'll probably have to parse it into separate documents to load into...
  6. Re: VB6 QUESTION: How many here have rolled their own msgbox dialog boxes?

We have TaskDialog now. Simple formats can easily be used from VB6, complex ones require a type library.

    Re: Foreign Aid???

List of countries by homeless population is interesting, giving homeless per 10,000 people for many countries.

The UK looks 3 times as bad as the US.

    Re: Monitor Numbering

    Perhaps this is correct:

Re: VB6 Package and Deployment Wizard

MSADODC.OCX must be deployed, it is not included in Windows. PDW knows what to do with it, though I'm not sure why anyone would use it any more except for very simple quick and dirty programs. Each...

  16. Re: Installation problem again - unexpected error quitting

I bought my CDs in 1998 and they read just fine.

  17. Re: Installation problem again - unexpected error quitting

    What about it?

If you paid for it then you have a product key. If not, using a stolen key doesn't make that legitimate.
  18. Re: Installation problem again - unexpected error quitting

I chased down the ISO at "Get Into PC" and it is pretty clearly pirated.

They even have a video showing the installation process, and the hacked installer never prompts for the product key.

    Re: ntohs not working?

The "s" means unsigned short. In VB6 an Integer is as close as we can easily get. It only has two bytes.

Are you sure you don't want to use ntohl() instead?
