I think to a lot of people it's an armband they make for themselves, and anyone who doesn't wear it is the enemy.

You don't want to look at that handle, instead you'll want to look up what it means:

    Re: DPI Awareness per Window

No, the article is suggesting avoiding pixel-based metrics. We already have that rule in VB6, where font height is in points.

    That's a hot one.

    Re: DPI Awareness per Window

We're probably off in the weeds.

I think the original question was about setting different DPI Scaling "awareness" (actually appcompat) on different Forms.

    Re: DPI Awareness per Window

True, but that's a scaling factor only meant to be used in calling GetSystemMetricsForDpi() and not ever for direct use. The metrics themselves have separate X and Y values.

Nope. This is strictly an accident of common display adapters and their most common settings. Non-square pixels are rare on displays today though they remain fairly common on printers.

  16. Re: Can GDIplus be used to find out the designated Transparent Color in a GIF file?

I'm sure it can, you just need to work out the code.

In WIA 2.0 which wraps GDI+ you can get the info via the Properties collection of an ImageFile object:

    Option Explicit

    Private Sub...

I'm not sure what they buys you considering its cost. Just use MsgBox, it's only there temporarily after all.
  36. Re: Getting the ball rolling. Which VB6 projects are you working on?

The irony here is that the old "chicken and egg problem" always had an answer. The egg came first. That's how mutation and evolution works.
  37. Re: [RESOLVED] Corona virus, China major city lockdowns, etc.

Don't worry. As soon as it becomes "correct" to say vaccination didn't help enough the usual trolls will emerge, agree, and blame Trump. We are close to that day.
