  1. Re: Use JavaScript to develop a True VB7 (including transpiler and IDE)

Yes, you can select from a list of installed voices.

Set V.Voice = V.GetVoices().Item(0) ' gets the first voice in your list (0=first voice)

    Re: E-speak

As Sam says, there are 2 references both named "Microsoft Speech Object Library". You need the one that doesn't have "\Speech -Onecore" in the file path.

Is there any reason Windows SAPI doesn't meet your requirements?

The voices on Windows are better (less robotic) than eSpeak (and the newer eSpeakNG).

Re: Am I a dinosaur? DAO vs ADO

Interesting. Do you follow Microsoft's recommendations for multi-user use of Jet/Access databases - that you set up a linked table database on each PC linking to the actual database on the server?

Re: Am I a dinosaur? DAO vs ADO

No, I don't think you need to upgrade.
    I still use DAO 3.6 (DAO360).

But it is good to know there is the option of ACEDAO if it is needed.

Yes, still difficult to find anything better for Windows desktop development.
  15. Re: Vb6 , the Future, and what I have discovered

Classic Visual Basic is back in the March top 20.

This is probably more to do with the vagaries of Tiobe's methodology. In reality there is unlikely to be much change in the popularity of...
