  1. Re: [RESOLVED] Corona virus, China major city lockdowns, etc.

  2. Re: [RESOLVED] Corona virus, China major city lockdowns, etc.

We have a State "risk map" for COVID by county that ranks the risk from "Low" and then increasing from A to E.

Most places were A until recently, but now we're seeing more and more B level risk. ...
  3. Re: Project App.path from inside UC in OCX?

I'm not sure controls should be breaking encapsulation that way.

This sounds like a serious design problem, but there is a cheap fix: Rewrite the UserControl with a writeable property like...

Any organization can have these problems.

Somebody pays the bills, and that gives them a vote. Factions can have different agendas or even just follow a graven idol, er, school of thought. These...

  7. Re: OpenThemeData For Getting Background Color Of Context Menu Item ? (uxtheme.dll)

It sounds like what you want can be done by creating a 32-bit DIB with premultiplied alpha. I don't have an example of that though.

As far as I can tell LoadImage() can do that using a...

    Re: Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB problem

    Modern how?

The people behind MS Access took the Jet 4.0 engine, tweaked a bunch of stuff up, then added a few features only usable by MS Access and SharePoint.

    "Modern" doesn't buy you very...
  10. Re: [RESOLVED] Corona virus, China major city lockdowns, etc.

Or perhaps it means just that.

It seems to be used as a propaganda outlet. Some criticize it for delaying the reporting of several metrics and then "curating" them before release.

  11. Re: [RESOLVED] Corona virus, China major city lockdowns, etc.

I'm not sure Biden and his cronies have a clue, really. Or maybe their agenda just isn't obvious.

They seem to be fast-tracking deportations on the one hand, loading others onto buses to infect...

Re: Some thoughts on VB6 forum

    Lua? Ack, ptui!

I've written a little of that and I can still taste it. I don't see Basic there myself. The guy would probably say the same thing about Pascal.

  13. Re: OpenThemeData For Getting Background Color Of Context Menu Item ? (uxtheme.dll)

Test it first. It should run fine in the IDE.

I do not think it will do exactly what you want though. I can't think of any way to avoid showing the menu background color in the square of a color...

    Re: Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB problem

You can use MS Access to convert your ACCDB format database to MDB format. As long as you aren't using weird ACE features like multi-valued columns that should be seamless.

    Your program should...

  17. Re: OpenThemeData For Getting Background Color Of Context Menu Item ? (uxtheme.dll)

Wrong call, that one only sets the checked and unchecked bitmaps. The one you want is SetMenuItemInfo() instead.

But in both cases the bitmaps are meant to be monochrome mask bitmaps. Using a...

Re: Some thoughts on VB6 forum

Makes one wonder what motivates people to go slumming then. Why go into the "bad neighborhood" just to make claims of superiority? Selling a little religion along with those smallpox blankets?
  20. Re: OpenThemeData For Getting Background Color Of Context Menu Item ? (uxtheme.dll)

How are you using this color anyway?

Seems like it would require a lot of subclassing and bitmap swapping. Is it really worth all that?

Re: Some thoughts on VB6 forum

The funny thing is how rare it is for anyone to go into the VB.Net forum to sling mud. The reverse is common though, and probably reveals a very deep insecurity.
  22. Re: OpenThemeData For Getting Background Color Of Context Menu Item ? (uxtheme.dll)

GetSysColor() will not track with theme changes made since the last reboot.

GetSysColorBrush() will however, since that is what gets used.
  23. Re: Correct format for mathematical calculations

Don't forget that relying on implicit coercion the other way is just as hazardous in its own way. Use CStr() or Format$() as appropriate.

  38. Re: SetMenuItemBitmaps ...LR_CREATEDIBSECTION (Transparent Background)

  40. Re: Problem with getting raw image bytes from WIA
