  1. Re: [RESOLVED] Type Mismatch problem regarding an If Else statement

Fair 'nuff. But where did users want to take it?
  2. Re: [RESOLVED] Type Mismatch problem regarding an If Else statement

Brings back lovely memories of coding in 1979 with the Tandy Model 1. Even used 'Electric Pencil' word processing. Fist wrote (and sold) in BASIC on cassettes, then 5.25 floppies, then Model II with...

    Windows 11

Are any Vb6 users on here also using Windows 11? What is the experience? Will W11 run a) the IDE and b) VB6 apps?
  4. Re: Set excelApp = CreateObject("Excel.Application) no longer works!

Athlon: Thanks but as it works perfectly from the exe and I use it to prepare Aus end of financial year sheets (Nearly upon us), I will leave that app for now!
  5. Re: Set excelApp = CreateObject("Excel.Application) no longer works!

Sam: My error in post. I did have closing quotes in the snippet shown!

Athlon: I use both 2010 and 2013 on two different machines. Don't trust 365.

As I posted, app works fine once compiled....
  6. IDE behaving oddly. Last lines of code on one app not visible

The last few lines of one of my apps will not show, however I scroll, but printing the form code shows them up, and the app works. Any ideas ?
  7. Re: Set excelApp = CreateObject("Excel.Application) no longer works!

Very strange! Does not work from IDE (using F5) but does in EXE!
  8. Set excelApp = CreateObject("Excel.Application) no longer works!

As title. It used to work. Now the program hangs. I suspect a W10 update to block off a virus route might be to blame. Is there a workaround because I have been using quite a complex Vb6 app to copy...

Thanks Westconn1. You always take pains to fix solutions for me. Much appreciated.

    Two things arise.

1 That warning message is not showing for me but no doubt that's why my app hangs. So how...

Could someone please correct this for sending email using late binding (using the structure as I have, as far as possible)? I am back to VB6 after an absence....
  17. Re: Running VB6 and VB6 apps on Raspberry Pi, or any Linux

Thanks> I have now found copy and paste tools to work but still can't reset of eg button colour from clDefault.

  21. Re: Running VB6 and VB6 apps on Raspberry Pi, or any Linux

Yes, not too bad at first try. But must remember those darned semicolons!; (!)
  22. Re: Running VB6 and VB6 apps on Raspberry Pi, or any Linux

To partly answer my own question, having had a good look at Lazarus, I'll have no problem with the IDE and the creation of forms. The problem for me will be learning Pascal, having been spoiled by...
  23. Re: Running VB6 and VB6 apps on Raspberry Pi, or any Linux

Does it have a GUI similar to Vb6? Never worked with Delphi so wondering if after 15 years with Vb6 (and aged 80) this is doable for me...
  24. Re: Running VB6 and VB6 apps on Raspberry Pi, or any Linux

Thanks for the idea. I've looked at Xojo and Gambas and they are not remotely as good as Vb6.
  25. Re: Running VB6 and VB6 apps on Raspberry Pi, or any Linux

Thanks, but what I want to do is get away from W10 updates and move to Linux, preferably on the Pi
  26. Running VB6 and VB6 apps on Raspberry Pi, or any Linux

Has anyone succeeded in doing this, via Wine or any other VM mechanism?
  27. Re: W10 updates appear to have disabled properties window?

Got it! But not sure how!
  28. Re: W10 updates appear to have disabled properties window?

Zeroing in on the problem, I have got the Properties window back but can't dock the Project explorer on the right where it used to be. It occupies the whole screen.

  30. Re: W10 updates appear to have disabled properties window?

    Hi Sam

I have W10 Pro Version 10.0.18363. As I said as an edit to my first post, I think the problem is that I have somehow messed up the docking, and I have now restored one of the docked panes...
  31. Re: W10 updates appear to have disabled properties window?

Not sure what you meant Sam. I am referring to the Vb6 I have had installed silence the W7 days. My o/s has been long since 'updated' to W10. BTW: I have added to my original post.
  32. W10 updates appear to have disabled properties window?

After a long time working fine, it appears that the latest W10 updates have disabled the properties window in the IDE. Any one else found that?

Edit: Looks like I've lost control of my docking and...

    Radio button selection problem

I'm having a strange problem I've never had before. I have set up a group of radio buttons inside a frame. I find that I can select more than one at a time. Which I certainly don't want to do!
