    Re: FileCopy to Linux server

Er, that looks more like a Samba share, not NFS. Windows 10 has an NFS Client but it's an optional feature ("Services for NFS"). Probably requires a local firewall rule as well.

    Re: FileCopy to Linux server

WebDAV works fine ocer a LAN or even on the local machine itself. However it was specifically developed for WAN use.

I think it really comes down to what your box jockeys will support though.

    Re: Is Object Pointer Valid?

It's a pointer, either valid or not.

Even if there was some sort of "is where this points to an object instance" test... what if by then it points to some other object now?

    Worthless.

You might be far better off ignoring the poor advice to "use pixels everywhere."

You can convert as needed "just in time" if you must. Supplement that with cached converted metrics as needed.

Before doing anything radical you may as well throw High DPI into the mix first. Some rubber bands and duct tape tends to get more snarled than others once this now-common issue is considered.

I think you have failed to account for the non-client "Areo Glass" border, which is suppressed to transparent by the DWM in supported versions of Windows today.

Er, you made a synchronous request. There is no reason to add a silly DoEvents() loop like that. The cargo culting here is really getting bad.
