  1. Re: Why VB.NET Power Function is so fast ?

If that is the case, did you test your calculation with a C++ version to see how fast it is? If you want to a simple function export that is usable from VB6, C++ has the best compiler for this. It is...
  2. Re: Why VB.NET Power Function is so fast ?

Actually I think questions like this belongs in the VB.Net section. Many VB.Net programmers were also VB6 and VBA programmers, but not the other way around. I think we all know how the VB6 people...
  3. Re: Why VB.NET Power Function is so fast ?

VB6 by default in the IDE uses a bytecode virtual machine which executes instructions slower than native code. VB.Net on the other hand always executes native code. Did you perform the VB6 test after...

Re: How To Compile code as DLL

No one knows everything my man. ;)

DLLs just happens to be something I'm very familiar with. I've written all kinds of DLLs over the years so I kind of have a sense for what's what when a topic...

Re: Looking for Custom UC checkbox on/off switch

I agree with Elroy. You can use simple images in combination with simple GDI calls like StretchBlt to achieve this. However, I won't lie to you, it's still going to take quite a bit of time. You...

Re: How To Compile code as DLL

No. He said "Standard DLL". Typically what people mean by this is the most common type of DLL which is one that exports WINAPI styled functions like Windows DLLs such as GDI32.Dll or User32.Dll

    Re: problem in webvew

You mean to say that JavaScript is case sensitive. .Net case's sensitivity has no bearing on this.

    Drama queen this one. :ehh:

Re: How To Compile code as DLL

He wants to export WINAPI/Extern "C" styled functions from the DLL. The C++ compiler has the most straightforward way of doing this.
  10. VS 2015 Re: How To Define Variables In Public Class. VB.NET

In that case, only a minor modification is needed, just remove the Set blocks and add ReadOnly modifiers:-

  12. VS 2015 Re: How To Define Variables In Public Class. VB.NET

    I recommend this approach:-

    Public Class frmSignIn
    Public Property UserName As String
    Get
    Return Me.txtUserName.Text
    End Get
    Set(value As String)
    ...
  13. VS 2015 Re: How To Define Variables In Public Class. VB.NET

Oh you're right I didn't notice that the class was a Form. I thought it was a generic data class.

    Public Class frmSignIn
Public strEmail As String = txtEmail.Text
    Public strUserName As...
  14. VS 2015 Re: How To Define Variables In Public Class. VB.NET

Something about the OP's question doesn't make sense. Let's assume the most common thing, that he placed these TextBoxes on the Form at design time. This would mean he shouldn't be getting null...

  26. Re: [RESOLVED] Type Mismatch problem regarding an If Else statement

Really? I wasn't aware of Def[Type] statements back then. I only became aware of it when I started programming in QuickBasic Extended a lifetime ago.

  33. Re: [RESOLVED] Type Mismatch problem regarding an If Else statement

  34. VS 2010 Re: Function does not return value in all code paths error

I find this interesting. That shouldn't be throwing an exception. That warning is just that, a warning.
  35. Re: [RESOLVED] Type Mismatch problem regarding an If Else statement

    You could do this:-

    Dim v$, b$, Msgxyza$, x As New Form1

It's ugly as hell, I know, but it's more efficient. If you're going to use VB6, you're going to have to put up with this kind of thing....
