    Re: Extended ascii characters

Another thing to consider is the font in use, not all fonts use the same character for the same code.

Terminal and sys fonts both use the expected ansi characters for each code 0-255

    Re: Different Boggle Question

It may also be easier if you were to use 4 arrays, one for each row rather than just one.

    Re: Different Boggle Question

Yeah you would need one list per player and then compare those to see which words actually get a point value.

    Re: Different Boggle Question

Been about 30 years since I played this game but if memory serves. The rules are the letters must be from neighboring dice in any direction, same die can not be used twice in any given word, a short...

    Re: Different Boggle Question

hmm... I think if it were me I would use buttons rather than text boxes and let the user click them in the order they wish to spell the word. You could remember the last button pushed to check if the...
  6. Re: How to Change ODBC Linked Database on Runtime

I'm not clear on what you are doing but using ODBC is a bad choice to start with. Not sure why you would need to change it in 200 reports though. You could manually point the DSN to a different db...
  7. Re: Help with an error in a simple mouse simulation script

What he was saying is that you should call GetWindowDC() once at the top and assign it to a var then use that var in all your GetPixel() calls that follow rather than repeatign calling the...
  8. Re: Connection string for Integrated Security

Those two have different sources as well, have you tried using the same data source in both strings to see if you get different results?
  9. Re: Sending folder with files, to a remote ip address machine

I think you mean fictional don't you ;)
  10. Re: Sending folder with files, to a remote ip address machine

What you have in your code brackets is not even remotely close. MKDir and Filecopy work on your local machine or LAN they are not for doing operations on remote machines. It seems you want to do this...

Re: Vb6: Winsock data arrival multiple packets

That is why you read the content length from the header then you know what to expect. So it is not a matter of you can't use it it is a matter of you can't hard code it to some preset value you have...

Re: Vb6: Winsock data arrival multiple packets

I did help, more than once already. I showed you how to append the text, I told you that normally you would use a buffer variable.
I am not going to write the code for you so you can just paste it...

Re: Vb6: Winsock data arrival multiple packets

You have to use a buffer, append the data to the buffer as it arrives then read the data from your buffer when the time is right. You can not get the data in one go when all of the data is not there...

  17. Re: [RESOLVED] Vb6: search for more than one word in textbox

Hmm you do know that the name Mary only has 1 R in it marry is a verb rather than a name.

  20. Re: Vb6: search for more than one word in textbox

  21. Re: Vb6: search for more than one word in textbox

If you want it on one line then you could do it like this

    If InStr(1, RichTextBox1.Text, "a") And InStr(1, RichTextBox1.Text, "b") And InStr(1, RichTextBox1.Text, "c") Then MsgBox "Found"
    But...
  22. Re: Vb6: search for more than one word in textbox

Why would it need to be one line? Why would you use the counter if you are only using one line? Neither make any sense to me.

Also be aware that if those letters occur in any word you will still...

Re: continuously query a table. Possible?

Yes of course it will have an effect of performance, how much depends on the query, the number of records and the indexing.

Have you considered just looking at the timestamp on the file?
  24. Re: Change Value Of A Textbox Whose Name Is Derived from text in another textbox!

You really should be using a textbox array, This would allow you to have a single routine with a single line of code and that routine would handle the proper textbox no matter which one was clicked...

Re: Divide decimal or small number

If you would show the code you tried that did not work then we could probably tell you what you are doing wrong. My guess is that you are using the wrong type of variables.
  26. Re: How to Terminate Previous Instance of My Application

  28. Re: Visual Basic 6 shipped project throws error on compilation

  29. Re: Vb6: check if textbox contains multiple values
