    ok - remotely was a bad choice of words - the USB device is only connected to the desktop - no network - just USB connection

    nope it doesnt compile - if I select option 3 all I get is the 2nd text file

    the compiler tells me Else with out if - an the option #2 button line

    I want the filename in text2 to be the filename

    Now the file I open (jeff.wav) will save the recording - but the code doesnt write to the filename in the text box
