The font size is of type "Currency". Probably that's why you observed the scaling by 10000...

VB6 can't target any other platform than x86. There is no such "Target CPU" option, where did you get this idea?
-
Ok so these ActiveX DLLs and OCXs absolutely need to reside in a subfolder to prevent accidental registration when somebody would run the EXE as administrator.
As an additional precaution, would...
-
I'd be interested in this as well, more to the point how would you prevent such an OCX to be accidentally registered when you clearly don't want that?
-
You can calculate the hash using an online tool such as: https://emn178.github.io/online-tools/sha1_checksum.html
That way you can check whether you have the same file or a different version.
-
Wouldn't it be easier to obfuscate the symbols in the source files before compilation?
-
You can get a description of most errors with a function like this:
Public Function GetLastErrorMessage(lLastError As Long) As String
Dim lpBuffer As Long
If...
-
Yeah but access to static variables inside a function is also slower than module level variables.
-
It just means you need to declare the variable as a specific type rather than the generic "As Object":
Static oConn As ADODB.Connection
Requires a reference to "Microsoft Activex Data...
-
Probably you need early binding on that "oConn.Execute" to get some competitive speeds with the Jet engine...
-
Do you have a "5480542cf7b3bc18735044116acc6a341734ae71" SHA1 hash for "setupsp6.exe"?
-
As far as I know, there isn't any API function that can do what you want. You need to disable array bound checking to get a decent speed with this:
For i = LBound(bDib) to UBound(bDib)
...
-
You can get it from this post. Fafalone was kind enough to keep a copy of it.
-
Google for it man it's free, although can't post links here for obvious reasons.
-
Told you above, get the Enterprise edition.
-
Indeed the issue seems to be the InnoSetup program. The same thing happens with WinRAR when trying to make a self-extract archive with the "-iadm" switch which requires self-elevation. If the switch...
-
Where did you get those 200 lines from? Beside the code I gave you in post #5 you just need your existing search code placed in your existing subclassing proc. That's it.
-
You could do ZeroMemory on your bDib() array. That should clear the bitmap.
-
You could probably use your existing subclass proc to process the "WM_FINDREPLACE" message and perform your search so there isn't really that much code to add. It should definitely be less work than...

I did have another language installed for testing Unicode characters but apparently only the keyboard layout was installed. I had to click "Download Language Pack" in Windows Language Settings and...

The "FindText" API does not return 1 (true), it creates the "Find/Replace" dialog window and returns its "hWnd" or zero if it fails to create the dialog for whatever reason. So it makes no sense to...
-
It is very easy (albeit highly tedious) to replace any API calls from the TLB with your own declarations (requires ample copy-pasting skills). The TLB is included in the project for convenience. But...
-
Yeah I know, apparently these functions were available as early as Windows 98 if you installed the Internet Explorer 5.5 package.
For some reason, xiaoyao wants to do it the "old school" way...
-
Yeah, I've been using the Find/Replace dialog in my RichEdit and MsftEdit lightweight Unicode Textbox project.
It's pretty straight-forward but gets a little more complicated if you want to enable...
-
I don't see options to assign sounds to "SYSTEMSTART", "SYSTEMEXIT", "SYSTEMWELCOME" although you used to be able in previous versions of Windows.
-
Some of these constants still work in Windows 10:
Private Enum SND_ALIASES
SND_ALIAS_SYSTEMASTERISK = 10835
SND_ALIAS_SYSTEMQUESTION = 16211
SND_ALIAS_SYSTEMHAND = 18515
...

How can the prop be still available if the hWnd is destroyed when the program crashes? Even if the list of props is kept separate from each window, the odds of getting the same hWnd are...
-
It shouldn't come as a surprise that VB6 executables are falsely detected as trojans. Simply delete the EXE from the ZIP archive.
-
You didn't specify what exactly are you trying to accomplish?
-
In my experience it really doesn't matter what the return type of an API function is in the documentation. When it comes to VB6, "Long" will always work no matter what.
-
Yep, that's right but it would have helped a lot more if the "Dim" was ignored unless it was actually needed, that way it could have improved the execution speed of many functions.
-
Yeah, it's not very intuitive that the position of a "Dim" statement within a procedure is irrelevant but it makes more sense to place it as the first statement.
-
Autoredraw is false by default and it doesn't have anything to do with the controls on a form. It only affects the persistence of graphics drawn on the form's hDC. Modifying the controls will cause...
-
That's some creative usage of dwRefData right there. I still think it would be much easier if the subclass proc were implemented inside the form though, that way you'd have direct access to the...
-
Everybody here is in the same age ballpark, except dilettante who's our granddaddy! :D
-
The code is slow because the form is being redrawn after each button is resized. You can first hide the form or the frame in your case (Visible = False), resize the buttons and then make it visible...
-
Pretty sure you can answer this one yourself but I think it's mainly for the same reason we don't write our code in Notepad and compile from the command line like the true legends. ;)
-
Yeah I guess people were just wasting their time in this thread. I've just posted a very simple example in post #32 where you can absolutely press "Stop" and also move the execution pointer in debug...
-
Apples and oranges I guess... We are not talking about the properties of a user control. In this case the "GetProp / SetProp" functions are referring to a "hWnd" that can hold a reference to an...
-
Even so, unless you turn off array bounds checking, a dedicated API function would always search faster:
Private Declare Function CommaSearch Lib "shlwapi" Alias "StrStrA" (pszFirst As Any,...
