  1. Re: [RESOLVED] Corona virus, China major city lockdowns, etc.

I wouldn't say that all religions are equal, in this regard. Idaho has some odd ones.

It's not an evenly distributed 55%. Idaho has a rate of about 40%, and even that is a skewed value, because...
  2. Re: [RESOLVED] Corona virus, China major city lockdowns, etc.

Not a chance!! At least, not a chance where it comes to the Idaho outbreak that is currently going on. Half this state probably couldn't find the UK, and the UK probably couldn't find this...

    Re: flippin bits

Actually, none of that matters. All that matters is the mental model that people have that allows them to get the job done. As long as that's right, they'll be fine, otherwise they won't. What Elroy...
  4. Re: [RESOLVED] Corona virus, China major city lockdowns, etc.

Yeah, they don't correlate very well. There may be still other factors that aren't being addressed. There could be super spreader events that are more likely in some places than in others. For...

    Re: I need help

That subject line isn't all that good. Anybody who posts a question here generally needs help. I also edited your post to add

  8. Re: [RESOLVED] Corona virus, China major city lockdowns, etc.

A necropsy would be a good thing (and you don't even NEED to tell me where THAT word came from). There probably need to be a whole lot more than there currently are. We have a LOT to learn about this...

Yeah. There's a distorted fourth pillar, though, and that's even more disturbing. There's news out there, to be sure, it just doesn't have any vetting before it's released. There are no editorial...
  10. Re: [RESOLVED] Corona virus, China major city lockdowns, etc.

No, only a portion have stopped. Most never really cared...or even knew what impact it had on their lives. If they start seeing prices increase, they'll care. If they see their jobs go away, they'll...
  11. Re: [RESOLVED] Corona virus, China major city lockdowns, etc.

That reminds me of a story. A friend of mine had a kid who got a really rare and very difficult illness. She was terribly sick and hospitalized for several days, but recovered almost fully (she might...
  12. Re: [RESOLVED] Corona virus, China major city lockdowns, etc.

When it comes to one-off issues with no clear cause and effect, the burden of proof has to be higher. There is no clear reason why something that triggers the immune system to react to a respiratory...

Re: To Afghan or to not Afghan

You aren't the only one. I'm not entirely clear on it, myself.

There have been attempts at third parties, over the years, and there actually ARE several other parties, they just don't amount to...

  15. Re: [RESOLVED] Corona virus, China major city lockdowns, etc.

I looked at the third link...for reasons that are weird, but basically came down to the fact that I didn't want to watch a video and missed the fact that the second link wasn't a video.

    That ended...

  20. Re: [RESOLVED] Corona virus, China major city lockdowns, etc.

We're going to, one way or another. The cost per dose is far higher in the US as opposed to developing countries. Therefore, they would be much happier selling third doses to Americans than selling...

You just have long phase AC. It's alternating from on to off to on.
  23. VS 2017 Re: Execute SQL query entered inside TextBox control and display results in Datagridv

With ADO.NET, you create a connection as a first step. That's probably an OleDBConnection object, for Access.
  24. VS 2017 Re: Execute SQL query entered inside TextBox control and display results in Datagridv

There may be better ways to go about this. What you probably don't want to do is have the user be able to type in any string, and if it parses, execute it as SQL. That seems like a really bad idea,...

Yeah, if you're so old, you also remember all the predictions that Apple would off DOS, Linux would off Windows, SCSI (being clearly superior) would replace IDE, and so on. You also probably realize...

Ctl+Alt+Del will take you to a screen which has the Task Manager as an option. There are likely other ways to get to it, but that's the one I always remember.

It's a very good thing to look at....

That may just be you, actually. For some reason, I tend to find VB.NET examples even when looking for C#. MS tends to put out both, often on tabbed pages, but I wonder if Google doesn't have a hand...
  37. Re: How soon may I have to give up VB.net (and VB6)?

That's just a bit more tea-leaf reading. Xamarin wasn't an MS technology, so the fact that it is in C# has to do with those who wrote it, not MS. You may have a point when it comes to ASP.NET, or you...
