how do you pronounce it?
Arse coz I come for Dorrrrssseet
Ass is a wonkey donkey isn't it?
G
Ass is what I sit on all day...
Arse is what I say around people parents so I don't get in trouble :D
Midgets, are you from America?
Can't get anything the right way round.
Ass is a donkey,
Arse is your backside.
Except in America where two concepts attached to similar sounding words totally eludes them.
Bloody Yanks! :D
My sentiments exactly ... I can't wait till Katie gets to see this thread! :D
As father jack would say
ARSE!
ARSE is in the lead! :D
Definitely ARSE.
but how anyone with the spelling generally found on this board can have the chutzpah to pontificate about pronounciation is beyond me.
Surely you mean "pronunciation"? :rolleyes:Quote:

(So as not to offend any international guests :p that is simply aust slang - dang)
I try very hard to make sure people understand exactly what I mean when I say something. I would hate to call one of my fellow Americans an ass and not have them understand that I've insulted them. They wouldn't know what an arse is so I say ASS! :D Of course, I think the extended middle finger when I say it also gives them a clue that I am not pleased.
I knew that you would say that Katie!!! :D
Problem is, though - a donkey is a friendly, cuddly animal (so my daughter tells me), so if you call someone an ass, isn't there a chance that they'll think you're paying them a light compliment? There's no such misunderstanding with ARSE. :pQuote:

(Strangely, the Scottish pronunciation of arse - erse - is also another name for the Irish version of Gaelic. Make of that what you will...)
You are a fountain of ARSE knowledge InvisibleDuncan! :D
ASS
donkey, maybe
backside, yes
mike, yes
Mmm. Worrying, isn't it? :rolleyes:Quote:

Don't americans call an Arse a Fanny???
Can be fatal???
edit: Chris is right, that is disturbing... <snip>
Thats really quite disturbing Dennis...
I know......
I can't remember where I got it..... just found it on the computer, probably something my brother downloaded....
Arse! :D
What was disturbing?
I got that thing still open in media player, where does it store it temporarily=?
It's probably in Temporary Internet Files.
And Dennis just enlightened me as to what it was...
Ah found that 2.55M file, i feel really sorry for that man
Me too.
who would want to be in his place
Possibly Katie, but you can never tell ;)
She said the size of donkey's scare her...... that thing must've been 45cm long......
there is a good probability factor on that :p
ARSE
Ass is a donkey
Very true Chris. For once I think we agree about how certain words are pronounced.
well you northerners...! ;)
This northern-blooded person says you should never hit an ass's arse because it won't be pleased ;)
I agree - 'tis wise not to
the 2.55M ass wouldn't agree
I think it was too busy to bother agreeing ;)
indeed, it wouldn't bother anything at that moment
Whose butt is it anyway !
*Pointing the finger at Gary.Lowe's avatar*
It's my phenomenally gorgeous derrière :D
Arse or ass ... all the same to me. I use "reet" :D

I am a Tigger fan myself :) GGrrrrr
Yep Tigger is great, and Roo too :)
...... and piglet (mmmm bacon sandwiches j/k :p), and Christopher Robin and Rabbit, and...... (can't remember any more)
The reason that i love Tigger is that when i was little my Dad used to sing the Tigger song to me most nights when i went to be
............"The wonderful thing about Tiggers, is that i am the only one"
You forgot Pooh and Owl (or should that be Wol?)
i thought that there was an owl, but i was unsure
Oops I forgot Kanga as well. I think I've read the stories too many times....
