On my own again then?
Cruel Cruel World!
Well, it goes without saying that I'm up for it.
I don't see why some Southerners can't come as well. They could get a cheap hotel room in the city for the night for about £30-40.
I reckon Behemoth will come for a few.
Come on Northerners, rally around the guiding beacon of....
BEER!!
I think Matt would be up for it as well?
I figured as much. Has he ever turned down a night of wild beer drinking?
Methinks I'm a bit too far north...
Well get on the train/in the car/atop the camel and git yo arse down here.
In fact you can run it. Scots have to run that distance every day carrying a live goat - just to find fresh water!!
I am a bit too far south :(
There's always the Great British Rail service which will only take you three weeks to get here.
Well, all Southerners own a Mercedes - so get up here, and pick up anyone else who's coming on the way!
Anyone coming from Norway who can pick me up along the way? Or do I have to walk barefoot over red hot molten glass all the way there?
yeah
ianpbakers got his passion wagon ready to save any southerners from the plight of not visiting the rainy north plagued by racisim, taxi driving rapists, Boddingtons and the odd scouser
Ummm, you might be thinking of slightly more northern south England Like Cheltenham. I'd have to go in my 'orse an' cart. Oh-ar.Quote:

By the North I assume you mean Manchester, which of course is the only place worth visting up here. If so, count me in for the odd Aftershock or two.
That makes 5 so far
Any more bids?
Is the famous sherry drinking himself, IanP, coming up for beers. He can afford to make the trip quite easily.
I'd love to go but exams have kept me firmly tied down to the Midlands :(
I'll get pissed here instead :)
We can schedule it for when you've finished your exams...
Good idea - I'm on holiday until the end of June anyway so what about start of July or later ?
After mid-July I'm 18 so much fun will be had by all ;) Nah...I'm completely stuck all the rest of this year :(
go back up to manchester, Do you think i'm mad or something. trying to forget last time, especially when arbiter tried to two time his sheep that he has got.
On a serious note( whatever that is), if it's a saturday night, i'll be glad to come and visit. Unfortunatley this site has gone absolutley hay-wire whislt at work so I'm not around much in the day at the moment. Mail me if any-thing becomes definate :)
........am way too far south for that
.and.
You lot would probably have a couple of middies of shandy between you and call it a night.
Arbiter has a sheep....hmmmm.....
It's only an inflatable sheep.
Besides, IanP said he wanted sloppy seconds...
............lol.................
Disturbing image though, Ian with bottle of sherry in one hand, while shagging a blowup sheep:eek:
I'll be sure to bring a disposable camera on the pub crawl, so I can post all the pictures later.
Will probably need an 18 certificate though....
You can bet Arbiter has shed aa few tears in the Foot and Mouth Crisis.
All those beautifull sheep. Arbiter even volunteered to roger every sheep in the coutry so they didn't die without ever feeling loved.
ROTFLMFAO :D
If it did go ahead, as you said I would get a hotel for the night and prove that us Southereners can drink just as much. Just can't do it quite as much now in me old age:rolleyes:
I'm up for it :D & don't worry Ian, I'll be able to prove it to 'em us southerners ain't lightweights ;)Code:You southerners would probably have a couple of middies of shandy between you and call it a night.

I have an idea
To keep the vb-world traits going instaead of a post race we can have a top shelf race!
Sounds fine to me :D
Good for cheap music shops manchester, though the people are a bit dodgy ...
All bow down to the god of southern comfort. Were not worthy, were not worthy
Bloody hell mate, you and your dodgy drinks!!!Quote:

nowt wrong with southern comfort
I second that !
Though Gary's favourite Hooch I'm not keen on ...
It's too sweet IMO. But then again, I'm a lardy micky Guiness drinker...
I think RBVs are the way to go for completely estroying youself with booze..
Come on!!!!!
Sounds like a night which will become legendary!
OK guys, let's have a show of hands - who's coming then?
Me
Gary
Matt
Behemoth
Ianp (must be Sat night)
Alex
Anyone else?
I think we do the famous 'rainbow' from the top shelf. I think I'm going to need a hotel room in MCR, 'cos I don't think I'll be able to get home...
And, the benefit of a hotel is, it will have a bar so I can pop in for a quick nightcap.
Now all we need are some sexy women coming...
the only reason for a saturday, is that the way the project is going at the moment, there is no way I can get any time off work and i'll be dammed if I'm driving 300 miles straight after work on a friday night :)
No problem pal.
I pity you having to drive 300 miles back darn sarf after a night on the town with some Northerners.
You'll either still be in casualty having your stomach pumped, or at the least about 212 times over the limit. You'd have to go back late evening on Sun.
Are Midlanders included?
:D Any Ideas when/where????
Ya better go Pix, they will all be totally pissed after two rounds. You know what northerners are like. So will need some one to throw them in a taxi and send em home. Just tell the taxi driver that they ain't drunk and people normally talk like that in Cardiff, which should look lovely at 5.00am in the morning when they wake up.Quote:

Jethro,
Don't give them ideas!
I remember the last night out I had in Manchester, when I got in, I had a set of windscreen wipers in my jacket pocket. Hmmm....
Midlanders are more than welcome, as long as you don't have an atrocious Birmingham accent. You'll still be welcome, but expect us to laugh at you all night. :)
Time and Venue. Well, not sure yet. Manchester will be the venue I reckon (unless anyone fancies a night out in Oldham?), meeting place to be confirmed. 'When' is the flexible part. It needs to be a Saturday for the Sherry Drinker but beyond that any week will go. Some people have exams so are we thinking about 7-8 weeks away?
can anyone offer me a lift in their jet? matthew gates? your dad has one doesn't he? :D
all sounds good to me, if anyone does need a hotel, check out the garden's hotel in picadilly, reasonabally priced and bang in the city centre , just right to be able to stumble into at 3am :)
To save me looking it up, how much is it on a Sat night?
If I remember correctly it was a about £60 - £70 a night for a single room, not too bad and it was a nice hotel :)
Doesn't the WalkAbout in the city centre have rooms for about £40.00 a night.
There's a bar and club included as well. There's also a happy hour from 5-7 where ALL drinks are two for the price of one.
There's also an Ibis hotel on Princess Street for £35 a night. It's about 5-10 minutes walk from Piccadilly when sober so adjust this time according to your pissedness.
I DO NOT have a brummy accent  :pQuote:

hey Simon. when did you reappear in the Forums ? Good to see you back matey.
No Brum accent?
Well, we'll still laugh at you anyway.
So, are you coming Simon?
The Ibis sounds like a good choice. You won't need anything fancy, 'cos you'd be too ******ed to notice anything in the room.
Gary,
I didn't know they put people up in the Walkabout? Or is that what they charge you if they find you asleep under one of the tables?
The Walkabout probably charges by the hour, if you know what I mean ?
I wouldn't know - Gary's the expert there.....
This Ibis chain are nice hotels, been in many of them all over europe, but £35 - £40 is a bit cheap for them, you sure m8 ?
Not quite the hilton that I'm used to though
but I though Simon offered us all to kip round his house :D ...
If my house is built by the time we have night out, then a clump of you can kip round at mine.
It's a few weeks off yet though.
I (will) live about 15 miles away from MCR so the cab fare will be a bit high, but won't seem so bad if there's a few in the cab. Certainly a hell of a let less than £60-70 though....
I'm pretty sure about those rates, the hotel has got a bloody big sign on the side of the building saying it's £35 per night so unless Saturday's are different or they're just plain lying then that must be right ( mustn't it ? ) Don't know the number though but I'm sure I could get it when I go to pick my car up later and post it on Tuesday when I'm back in work. Would do it over the weekend but I'm moving house.
Ian are you on comission for Ibis or somethingQuote:
