Because that's how the OC rolls...
San Berdoo's been getting snow for weeks... OC is a bit behind the times there.
I see it's also for just an hour. Oh, just because it snows, doesn't mean it'll stick, or even hit the ground. I remember on year it "snowed" ... the flakes drifted down until about 2 feet above the ground, where it melted, and vaporized...

I don't expect it to stay for long. But it would be awesome if it at least made landfall. I haven't been in the snow in a few years so it will be kinda fun. Then I will get too cold and go back inside.
Are you from SB?
Originally. Lived in Rancho Cuca, right at the base of Cajon Pass.
Before I went into the military and left the state, I worked at DLand a couple summers.
But for all the years I lived out there, I never went skiing at Big Bear or Baldy. All my skiing was up at Mammoth (worked there too), the Sierra Nevadas, or in Utah.... go figure.
We lived right at the base of Baldy, top of the foothills. Back in High School, every once in a while some enterprising person would take their truck up the hill to the snow lines, fill it with snow, drag it back down, and dump it out on the school's front lawn. There have been quite the few snowball fights in class.

One thing that remains constant is climate!
Er, ...
Ah very well. I despise the Cajon Pass very much. Have driven through there a few times in heavy rain, in heavy fog, and both. It sucks mostly because other people suck at driving.
I have never been skiing or snowboarding at all.
Going Snowboarding in the Alps in a couple of weeks.
Weeeeh! Treeeee! Aaaaaarrrgh!
Anytime I think of the Alps, I think of this... not sure why.... :P

Never seen it so I don't know why either.
It didn't snow.
Those 70s action flicks were generally pretty good IMO. They were far less formulaic than they are today and some of the actors could actually act.
Buy a pillow, cut a hole in it, wave it around and pretend.Quote:

50% simply means the weather guy have no idea whether it's going to snow or not. It's part of their training.
Out here, 50% means that the precipitation will make it 50% of the way to the ground. We are in an odd weather pocket, tucked between two mountain ranges that tend to extract the moisture for themselves....the greedy bastards.
Supossed to be down to 31 tonight but no rain or snow
Damn weather is being selfish. We want snow.
No, I want warm sunny weather again. Bring on summer!
warm sunny. Yes. Not too hot. Not too cold.
I have no control of the climate in my office at work. It comes and and off as it wishes. For the last week I have had to deal with an endless cycle of 5 minutes of cold AC switched to 5 minutes of heat. Its attempting to keep the temperature between two set points, but its not doing it effectively. Instead of just turning off the air or the heat, it turns the opposite on to keep it set. Its annoying.
At least you have heat. Here in my office its freezing cold. Everyone has jackets on in the office. Might as well be working outside :(
Is this your composite business that is so cold? If so, just think of the layers of clothing as laminations.
@Shaggs, naw Im still here programming for a couple more weeks. But once Im at the shop it will be even colder :(
Wear a snuggie

I have one on and its not helping :(
Heated blanket?
Cant afford heat. Have to save the heat to cook my top ramen noodles :(
You dont *need* heat for you top ramen. Just sprinkle the seasoning on the brick and eat it.
Naw, may break a tooth and then waste a grip of cash on a dental visit
Dentist? Apple a day keeps the dentist away.
On my way to work this morning the read out in my car was -4 Fahrenheit.
Orange County? California I guess, not one of the others.
So California hasn't cracked off and slid into the ocean yet I see.
It was never going to... it's the rest of the US that's going to crack off and slide into the Atlantic.

Mid to high 30's Currently 39F
We've been socked in with Fog for the last three days. Light rain showers occasionally.
Low 30s, but up near 50 at 6,000 feet, which is more than 3,000 feet above me. Unfortunately, that warmer reading was taken at the ski area. That's not really the way you want it.
Still no snow.
That's not really the way the ski area and its customers want it. You dare not speak for the rest of us! (-3 at 8am yesterday)

1 week till boarding
Oh I dare, I dare. It certainly isn't the way the ski area or skiiers want, but what I described is warm air over cold air, which means an inversion. I doubt there is anybody anywhere who enjoys inversions. Out here, it means that we have beek locked in a thick fog for days, and will remain in the fog for another week. At times, it is so thick that it is hard to drive in it because visibility is down to about 30 feet.
At the moment, the fog is light enough that I can see the house on the other side of the street, which wasn't the case a couple days back. Still, the sun isn't going to be out for perhaps the whole of next week, and we have been under a health advisory for days due to the bad air trapped in the valley. A couple years back it got bad enough that the radio stations were telling people not to exercise period, and not to go outside if you could avoid it.
Of course, since we're American, most people complied with the admonition against exercising. In fact, they were fairly proactive on that front.
