The US constitution says:
"The President can be and must only be a naturally-born citizen of the United States of America"
Doesn't that stink? Since USA 'rules' :D the world.... shouldn't anyone in the world have a chance of becoming President. I mean atleast a person who was not born in USA but lived in the US for a decade or so....

What exactly does 'naturally born' mean? Does that exclude 'test tube' babies? Babies born after artificial insemination?
Other than that though, I don't see what's wrong with wanting your president to be of the same nationality.
I was slightly amused by a line in Demolition Man when Sly was in 2035 (or whenever) when Sandra Bullock casually mentioned that Arnie Schwarzenegger had been elected President due to popularity polls.

I am a 'Natural' born US Citizen. But you know what? I still feel that the only TRUE americans are the Indians. Everyone else has come from other countries. That is what makes america great...we are the worlds melting pot.
Are systems here do suck...Judicial...election...taxes..etc...
they need to be changed.
But I must say enough with the negative comments about us...we are very often one of the first countries (and sometimes the only country) to help others! Hell sometimes we spend more money helping other countries than we do on ourselves!

Besides, I get loads of jip when I'm in Europe for being English. (Ya -see, to Europeans, Scotland = England), and nobody really likes them very much.
Anyway, I don't particularly hate anyone (apart from Datsun drivers with flat caps who drive at 30mph in a 70mph zone).
We've gone over this before, and my theory is that your countrymen (& women) take their country far to seriously.:) Maybe people out there do hate Americans, and I'm sure there are plenty of them. But I don't think any of them post to this forum. (Unless you can enlighten us with a few names;))

Well I sit here and think things like, "we are just successful, why is that a crime?"
Then I wonder if Microsoft says the same thing. We are not like Microsoft. We don't shove anything down anyone's throat.
And then again, that's not true. We have military bases all over the planet. Japan is a protected nation after the last World War, and we still concern ourselves with South Korea.
We also ignore world problems that don't concern us, and we get involved in stupid things that don't involve democracy, or freedom, or human rights, when we liberate an monarchy because we want cheap gasoline.
But you know what... all of this upsets American citizens, too. We aren't bad people, we are bothered by the same things, but... anyway....
The one thing that I do think we get a very bad rap for is tourism. We go overseas and there are people who are excited to see us, or people who hate us. I'm sorry, but if we have tourist here, we don't hate them. We as a collective do get a little indignant with people who naturalize as citizens but don't bother to learn English. English is not an official language, we just don't want to spend the money on hiring only multi-lingual police.
If anyone came to the States on vacation, I think they would (for the most part) feel welcome. But if we go overseas, we can't help but feel contempt.

American tourists suffer contempt? Where?
I have experienced superior and patronising attitudes of American tourists in Britain and I wouldn'g be suprised if that wound some people up.
We here on the news that most American people view Britain as a 'diseased' country where the food hygene is poor and not safe to eat. I've also heard (and I appologise if this is incorrect) that many Americans do not distinguish between BSE and Foot & Mouth!
Just for the record, Britain has one of the strictest hygene regulations in place in the world when it comes to meat. OK, our meat isn't pumped full of antibiotics and hormones but it's still safe. BSE is not a hygene related disease and the recent outbreak of foot & mouth is down to (probably) one dodgy import of un-treated pig feed.
Things like this do not endear us to America but I should stress that I have met good American people and there is no excuse for racism.
