Yes, I know, you have to work for it.
But from the job I have now, working at McDonalds and all, I will be able to afford that car in 20-30 years .
So, if you have a car over $15,000, how did you come to buy it?
I don't have a car. But I did by my wife a $55,000 Expedition.
I seem to manage fine with just the 1 kidney.
SD
I have a Cavalier(just over $15,000), and I got my parents to put it under their name, so I (they) could get a loan. But I make all of the payments
Heres my car :D
Well I'm only 15, but I want it!
I've gotta car that costs over $$$, well enough.
Saved up a lot of money. Plus some clever business dealings. hehe

Wife to the left, car to the right. Damn, that's a pretty hard decision SurfDemon .
With a car, you could go places, have freedom, get chicks to notice, etc.
With a wife, you can stay home, become enslaved, chicks see the ring and go the other way (advantages come as well, but I'm not going to list them :o.)
Damn, that is a hard decision :D.
Boring! Where's the fun in that:)Quote:

Good one surfdemon..
I could have used a friend last week to test out and see if my latest possible girlfriend was a physcho or not..

Maybe we should have a sort of MOT (Road worthiness test) for women. Then you would now in advance if she was bonkers.
Or maybe bonkers in a cute, energetic, having a good time sort of way. As opposed to being bonkers in a frightning, boil your pet bunny, stab you in the middle of the night sort of way.
Or how about an electronic detector. The LooneyO'Matic. You could point it at women and it would give you a rating as to how many cards short of a full deck she is.
Like "She was all right, only a couple of cards short according to the LooneyO'Matic" or "She was about 10 cards short man!"
What do you think, should we make such a device.
SD
We could expand the LooneyO'Matic with upgrade packs.
The GaggingO'Matic could detect if the girl in question is gagging for it, and the SkankO'Matic could sniff out cheap perfume and notify you if it's going to be a cheap date or an expensive one (followed by no sex).
It could give a combined reading, so you could weight up the pro's and con'.
Actually here's something to try.
Get your mobile phone, turn the "annoying beep when you press a key" function on. Turn the beep volume up full. Now announce to the office that you've bought one of those new fangled Skank detectors (the SkankO'matic 2000). Walk arround the office holding the phone in front of you and pressing a key about every second. As you get close to one of your female friends (preferably one with a good sense of humour), start pressing the key faster and faster as you approach her, as if she has activated it.
Please post your success, failure rate up on this board, and let us know how you got on.

And I always thought it stood for "First on rubbish dump!"Quote:

You never see any Aussie Holdens did ya?
Coz there the tough as! You guys should come down here and see the Ford Holden rivalery it's crazy. Everyone is oz is either holden or ford man!
By the way Holden is whooping fords ass...
Geoff Gunsen.
Good choice nissans are tops. I gotta 200SX as well 1995 model and it flogs along! Such a nice car. whats years yours?
But one mistake i think you said:
200sx(uk) 180(us/jap) nope
200sx(uk/aus) Silvia(us/japan) 180sx's are different cars they are same motor as 200sx but are hatch/lift back not sedans like 200sx.
I'm not sure if they even still make 180sx's.
180sx the early 90's anyway are way ligjhter than 200sx's etc etc.
This maybe different in the UK?
The reason they changed the name Silvia to 200sx in other countries is becuase of the conversion's needed to fit the other countries regulations.
yeah im looking into getting a used car , my first(15 i am ) . so what is a good used car for about 200 to 3000 just somthing that dont eaT GAS AND IT WANT BRAKE down ever day . thank sif you could help me
That my friend is a McLaren F1. It only has one seat located in the middle of the car to keep it balanced at its high speed. Its also the most expensive car. (About $838 000)Quote:

No, believe it or not it did happen. For Comic Relief a few years back they had one of the presenters (Lenny Henry) racing from location to location doing reports. And to get him out of the BBC studios and to the first location they used an F1 with police escort. While everyone's oggling the car, the other presenter says something like "Of course Lenny, we couldn't get you insured for it, so we have a professional driver to cheauffer you" (it's a 3 seater), and at that point Mr. Bean ambles out smiling and waving.
Besides I believe Rowan Atckinson is a bit of a fast car nut. Didn't he crash an Aston Martin recently?

Hmmmm.............
Seems I do remember test-driving my wife before I married her.........took her to a friend at a bride shop who knows these things. Found out that if I could get her for around $2000.00 down and $500.00 mo. at 9% APR OAC, I could swing it. I think I paid her off last year :)
Beacon - Nope, never saw any Holdens. Made a pretty steady livin' off those Fords though.
BoB:
Try a HQ Monaro, get one sold by an old grandad who's had since new and it will be cheap and excellent condition! You can do em up to be choice as.
OR
Torana LJ Noice as do it up. Put a small block in it. Noice!
OR
Datsun 120y. Simple mechanics cheap to run. Ugly and slow.
Or
HR Panel Van. Sandman of course.
marnitzg:
Mclaren F1 are crap. My mates 454 HQ Monaro will kick it's ass mate.

Excellent Deal, I'm still paying mine off (I forgot to get house insurance... i.e. we've just bought one)Quote:

This was last years project. My brother bought it and we spent the winter renovating her. Unfortunately she's a bit of a dog on ice (oweing to her weighing a couple of tons.... that momentum is hard to stop) so she only comes out to play in the summer.
Even with the extra weight she's surprisingly nippy thanks to her 6.9 litre pre-catalytic converter. It's quite funny watching her outsprint boy racers at the lights, they really don't expect it in a car like this, but apparently most of them have huge amounts of power under the hood, it's just that most people don't like to thrash them.
Oh, yeah, and driven carefully you can get 10mpg out of her, floor the accelerator and that drops off surprisingly rapidly. So classy, fast and really bad for the environment, what more could you want from a car.:p
SD
Not quite in the same class as all the cars that you high paid contractors and professionals drive, but here's mine

It's my baby...
Ok, my favourite car of all time has got to be the Jaguar XJ220, the fastest road-legal factory line produced car. top speed of 217 mph (361km/h) and 0-60 mph (100km/h) in 3.6 seconds *shudders*
Here is a new car that i like, sorry it is a Ford though
Beacon:
Hi, mines a 91 G plate, it has the hatch not boot, they changed that over here in 95. It's modified to around 200 BHP, with a stainless exhaust and hybred stage 1 turbo. I hope to do more in the future. The picture is not my car by the way.
marnitzg:
Your almost right, the F1 has actually three seats with the drivers seat posistioned in the middle for the best racing view of the car, I has a V12 BMW engine producing well over 600 BHP dose 0-60 in 3.blah seconds and some of them top out at 240 MPH. The engine bay is lined with 24c gold as it makes an excellent heat reflector. There are 4 Cats, and the body and chassis is made totaly out of carbon fiber. Sady only 100 road cars where ever made, I know of three that have crashed, making a total of 93 or less on the public roads. I have only ever seen 1 in my time and it is the best car ever made.
Last November I went to a local firework display. They store touring caravans there but not only were there caravans but also Land Rovers and Range Rovers which people have bought for the sole purpose of towing their caravans 2 or 3 times a year!
Now that's what I call having a disposable income.
I would LOVE a Range Rover and Luxury touring cavavan.
My car has a flat battery.
td.
Not any more, the jag was a flop, it cost the company millions, altough I have seen it and it is a stunning car the fast production car to date is the Lamborghini Diablo. It is still in production which what matters. There have been cars quicker than the Mcaren F1, prototype speed 12 (TVR) etc.Quote:

The most outragous car I have seen was Top Secrets modified Nissian Sky Line. It started life at a factory 280 brake, then they tuned it to 1000 BHP to break the unofficial open road top speed of 200 MPH, they failed at 193 and got caught (UK 3am on the M3). So they went back to the land of the rising sun, added 250 BHP (thats a total of 1250!!!!) and set the unofficial time of 209 MPH in one of Toyoko's long tunnels.

Does anyone have some jump leads?

I do.....fly on over and they're yours!
You have a battery with juice in it. isn't that a pretty rare commodity in your part of the world?
td.
(Edwards is in Cali isn't it ;-)
Yep...it's in California but I bought a Suburban this year and it always has plenty of juice in it!
We also bought a propane powered generator for home as well as have an outdoor grill so if the lights go out we're set!
