Gaffer - ok, I'll let you in on the secret there is a sit called isgay.com it is scripted so you can put anybody's name in front of it and it will look like it's a proper URL. It comes up with a make-believe newspaper article set in new york subsituting in the supplied name. Very funny the first time someone did it to me. :)

They made a PC version of Elite (in garish full CGA colour) so yo don't need an emulator. Mind you it might not run under Windows.
Did you ever find the original Elite controls odd? I mean the left/right keys controlled roll, not yaw. That always seemed weird to me considering that rolling didn't have the same effects in space.
Not really, since it's a lot easier to roll than yaw in space. It made sense to me, as in you rolled, then just used the pitch controls.
But it makes it harder to actually control. I mean how many space games use the roll & pitch method rather than yaw & pitch now? It was an option on Frontier, but it just made it harder to control. Well maybe it's just me.
