"Get the latest silverlight plugin to view this video"
In Linux?
EDIT: When I reboot into Windows, I'll try to see the video.
can't help you there.. I don't use linux
I tried searching for Moonlight, but tbh it'd be much, much easier if I rebooted into Windows. Quicker too.

Is it just me or do others think Kleinma's new avatar looks just like Dave Blaney?

my forehead may be big.. but I have more hair than that dude... :)
Am I the only one having extremely bad luck with this video? (P.S. I got a shot of you, but I dunno about RobDog888)
You actually appear to be the only one trying.Quote:

Get out of my teeth!!
My appearance in this thread probably indicates that I'm going to say something deeply offensive about the kind of people that attend Microsoft conventions.
Let's assume that I've done that and we can just move on with our lives.
awww wossy is jealous
No harm in admitting it. I'm jealous. Darn you all to heck!
If they give me clothing, I'd go. I got seven t-shirts, a magic 8 ball, and a rubber ducky from the last conference I attended.
Last conference I went to, I got fully licensed copies of Vista Ultimate and VS2008 Standard, along with demo licenses for SQL Server 2008 and Server '08... and it was actually thanks to that conference that I started using LINQ in my daily operations...
Wow....
You can get real penguins from Linux conventions.
I spotted you pretty easily Matt, but I cant spot Rob...is he the one sitting next to you...perhaps to your left?
I hear they taste kind of fishy. Is that true?Quote:

The last conference I went to I got bored. :(
The last conference I went to I learned that even though you'll wish it, boredom does not kill you.
I can attest to that.Quote:

What's with the pineapple and the fishes in your avatar?Quote:

Poorly drawn I can't deny, but it is a vase of fish. I do see the similarity to a pineapple, though.
In an effort to be healthy, I always made it a point to bring a piece of fruit to work as part of my lunch (it goes well after the tub of lard and side of water buffalo that made up the main course). One day I decided to bring a pineapple. I love pineapple, but an entire fruit was a bit more than I could get through in a single day, and it was SUPER messy.
I love fresh pineapple. The trick is not to bring the fruit to the office before cutting it.
The trick is to bring the fruit to the office after cutting it. :confused:Quote:

Why are the fish trying to get out of the pineapple or jar or whatever it is?
My fish tried to get out of the jar.... poor fish... :afrog:

No, the trick is to sit at someone else's desk while you do it.Quote:

The "I'm a pc..." stuff...
A friend of mine was going to buy a PC (apply mac battery issues..), but when she saw those "I'm a PC ads" she decided to stick with Mac. Honestly, I can't blame her.
Oh, and the WMV link works OK - no need to install Silverfish.
If you think the "I'm a PC" ads are bad, just get a load of the "I'm a Mac, and I'm a PC ads".Quote:

And if you want to make a game out of it:
- Take a sip of vodka whenever the Windows guy is put down
- Take another sip when the Mac guy tries to hide his "awesomeness"
- Down quarter of the bottle whenever you see PC in a predicament where if it were any normal Windows user, they would be absolutely fine
- Down half when you see the Mac advertise something which can easily be done on Windows with extra software
Now be careful, people have died extremely quickly playing this game due to the liver disease caused by this game.
Yea the PC campaign is a bit umm... corney IMO. But then again Im a programmer and not a Ad Marketing Executive
I've never actually seen an "I'm a PC..." ad, unless you count the video that started this thread. Not sure if that is an actual ad, though, nor what it means. I can understand people running the other way if they saw that horde yelling.
The Apple variant is nothing new. Apple has used the same basic message for as long as I can remember seeing Apple ads. They mix a certain suggestion of superiority along with a healthy dose of blatant fear-mongering and misinformation. The message has always been a combination of "We're cool." mixed with "This is what you will face if you leave us." It doesn't really work for new users unless they are clueless, because anybody with any experience knows that the fears are overstated or misrepresented.
It works as cult fuel, though.
I dont believe it will be anything more then the video series it is as the general public has no knowledge of MS even having MVPs.
MVP is a great status to hold when applying for jobs.
Perhaps just don't tell the employer how you got the MVP status while you haven't got the contract yet, it maybe a disadvantage if they will know firsthand that you are posting 24/7 and probably wasting office hours with such. :afrog:Quote:

Rob don't you have some coding deadline?? what are you doing posting on internet forums?
I like the challenge of waiting for the last possible minute to start doing any work
Maybe tonight I will actually get some work done. :D
Ps, I left my zip file uploading when I left for work and looks like it faild to complete. I think I'll take the video out and email you the pics separately.
And the trophy is pretty nice, too...Quote:

After watching the video, i have come to my conclusions.
This one is kleinma:

And i think this one is RobDog... he looks like a Rob....

Rob seem to look slightly like George Clooney. Cilu is the little one.
I stand by my point that the one to kleinma's left (not our left!) looks like a Rob, I could picture him in a mustang too.
Though we may never know... :afrog:
