Why was Kregg banned?!
Because of a funny picture that somebody *cough*k*cough* deemed ban-worthy. I'm with kregg on this one. It wasn't nearly as bad as some of the other stuff that's slipped through here.
Ban for a whole freaking month!!!
That's outrageous!!
If anyone found that picture "funny" that you have something very wrong with you, and you lost ALL of my respect as a person.Quote:

Was it really worth 1 months ban though?!
Edit: I haven't seen the caption...
In theory, how would it affect those of us for whom you had little to no respect as a person to begin with? :afrog:Quote:

Wrong. I have plenty of work to do. This is called procrastination.Quote:

He posted a picture of a girl being punched in the stomach with the words "surprise abortion" under it. If any of you think that is "funny" then that is sad, but hey, thats your opinion. However for anyone to think it is acceptable to post it on this forum, well you are wrong, and you can't argue that case to me.
Just keep in mind all the other times some of you have already had to be disciplined for your conduct in here, and then think how that may reflect the moderator communities decision when it comes time to decide if someone should be banned or not.
Yes. You don't want to know the caption.Quote:

Your a bus driver! Well bugger me!
First, remember that it was a cartoon image, not to be looked at realistically in the first place. Second, the text on the image itself said "falcon punch", a blatant reference to Super Smash Bros. Melee. The image was a joke from the start.
and if the image was there with no caption, this thread wouldn't exist.
Well actually, I have been planning a 'Why has kregg been banned' thread for months, its just a conicidence it was posted now.
Sorry but that sounds hilarious to me. Oh well...Quote:

No but then again maybe that was because it was my first offense? Well I got banned like 4 years ago but that's different, heh.Quote:

Sounds like the picture he posted is a reflection of his blatant disregard for life and humanity. Nothing surprising there.
This thread is closed
*maybe*
I would certainly hope that an employer would not use my feels or sense of humor as a requirement for hire. If they do then I probably wouldn't want to work there anyway...Quote:

1 month is quite long enough for krogg to prepare some random images to post here. :afrog:
Sounds good to me. It's not your job to baby sit us :)Quote:

excuse me?
You just said it was your job to babysit. Babysit != ban because you feel like it.
In all fairness, I dont think any moderators bann because they "feel like it", they bann because they believe a post violated the AUP.Quote:

I have banned very few people from these forums in my time here as a moderator. I feel I am pretty lenient with some of the drivel that comes out of peoples mouths in chit-chat.
My job is 3 fold. To move/delete threads as needed, to babysit you guys that don't behave, and to ban members who are told over and over again that what they post is not acceptable, and do it anyway.
I just hope kregg knows, that regardless of how he feels about this ban, that I was very VERY close to making it permanent, which is a tad longer time than a month.
You ever been banned before?
Hmmm. I don't like the sound of the image (is that even possible?), though it puts me in mind of a cartoon my old landlady sent me showing a bargain vasectomy. Clearly over the line in here, but for potentially pornographic potential, rather than the content itself being otherwise offensive. Yet if somebody described it, I might think it could be offensive. An artist can convey alot of context in a drawing.
In any event, my only concern is that I might go into lolcat withdrawals.....or not.
the cartoon and caption were not one and the same. It was your standard black border with lame caption under the picture job you see all over the internet. Someone took the art, and made the caption.Quote:

I'd have to say that the one thing that truly impressed me about Klegg is his ability to come up with the enormous load of images that he does. I can occasionally find one thing once every other month or so, he can post a dozen to any given thread at any given instant and never repeat. I can honestly say that I can't conceive of a life such that a feat of that nature would be possible. I'm not saying I envy that life, I'm just saying that it is remarkable, kind of like a three legged frog: Not a good thing, but a remarkable thing.

Yes, but I've heard of a thing called a life, too, and felt that was worth more. I have never owned a TV because I can't afford another diversion in my life, would I really spend time searching for images? Klegg must have more lolcat resources bookmarked than I have electronic/robotics bookmarks, and that's saying something.
Every person has something to teach us. Sometimes those lessons are valuable. Other times....well....not so much. Still, I have no problem recognizing a talent when I see one. He's the Tiger Woods of his own scategory.
Moderators can still see the post, and thus the image/caption too, and obscene is a perfectly valid description for it.
Despite what some people think, moderators don't want to ban people - we would be much happier if they just kept to the rules instead, as it would mean less work for us to do.
We have better things that we could do with our time than trying to get people to act in a reasonable manner. You already know what the rules are (or if not, should check), and it isn't hard to stick to them - especially after you have already been warned.
If you don't like the rules here, feel free to find another site that has rules you do like.
Walk the line long enough and eventually you'll step over.
Is the ban length final or can I convince you to make it permanent?
For once, we think as one.Quote:

You know, i had the moderators ask me to remove a link from my signature once. They considered a link to david hasselhoff borderline offensive. (although he was showing chest hair). And the link was titled "creepiest gif ever"

I also posted an image yesterday with certain profanity in it, and I quickly edited the post to remove the image. dClamp saw it, I know, and I apologize. Should I be permanently banned for that?
I think the case here is that this wasnt kreggs "first offense", he has been banned before. Think what would happen if Kregg wouldnt be a regular, say he would be a 13 year old that comes onto the VB6 section every now and then to post the most questionable threads. Then he probably wouldnt get as many chances as most of the people on here, simply because; he would not be one of the CC-"goons" and not a known name. I do believe the CC-goons have been given far more chances than the average member, so they should thank their lucky star.Quote:

Though I'm happy he didnt get a permabann:afrog:
