I dunno. You post a thread and have to reply to it yourself. Just to keep it alive <sigh>
smh....WHERE ARE YOU???
Cheers,
P.
Sorry,
I have a deadline coming up very soon, so I have actually been doing some work. I have only been posting like once or twice a day lately. And, my intern is needed more and more of my time each day with all the new little things he wants to learn. How are you?
Very well. All the better for knowing you are OK. Post me a thread when you are ready to talk. Not fair to let katie get ALL the plaudits...:):)
P.
you old smoothie paul
Oi! less of the old...
Cheers,
P.
It's bright and early in the morning, and I will be around for a while. I kicked some tail yesterday with my project, so I'm going to slow down a bit today. So, I will have time to talk today, PaulW.
Sadly I am really busy:( Tomorrow might be good. But I will keep an eye on this thread just to make sure we don't lose contact again...) I can't afford to lose any friends. I've got virtually none - or should that be "all my friends are virtual...":D
Bit of a tortured joke there, but it'll have to do...
Cheers,
P.
Ok, catch me tomorrow. It's Friday tomorrow, so no one really works around here tomorrow. Everyone just talks about what they are going to do on the weekend.
smh
smh. Not quite as busy as earlier. If you are bored, you really ought to try out the Post Race, there is some post-mordernist humour going on in there that is quite amusing.
BTW What is your name? Or do I have to stick with smh? and how do you say that anyway?
Cheers,
P.
My name is Shanea. You pronouce that as 'Shane''uh'. We'll leave it at that. I'll have to check out the post race.
That is nice. Unusual though. Bit more exotic than Paul...
P.
My parents thought that I was going to be a boy until I was born , so they had to make an adjustment to 'Shane'. Having an unusual name is a pain sometimes though. Not many people can say my name right. My current boss didn't get my name right for about 2 months when I started working here.
At least your boss knows your name - I've been here ten months and... <sob>
P.
Well, I am one of the five programmers here, so if he didn't know my name, he would have to have the worst memory ever. We are hiring another programmer though, so we will make it to six of us.
One of six eh? Count yourself lucky, I am one of seven - three brothers and three sisters, so I was used to having my name forgotten. My mum usually addressed me:- "Nick, er, Marcus, I mean Paul..." It was even worse for my younger brother Matthew...
Cheers,
P.
At home, I was one of four...four girls that is. Mornings were very hectic. And to top it all off, my parents were really cruel. They named my older sister Shawna. So, half the time while I was in high school, I was called Shawna instead of Shanea.
Cruel. Parents can be very cruel...
P.
Coulda been worse. In grade school I sat next to a girl
named Ginger.
Yep, Mr. & Mrs. Snap sure knew what THEY were doing.
My husband and I joked about naming our daughter Candice but we thought the kids would nick-name her Candy...Candy Barr is just too cruel!
My son's initials are BMW, so now I can tell everyone that I have a BMW. (By the way, we didn't pay attention to his initials until my fiance's mom said something about it. Didn't plan that.)
That's cute! It should make for great monograms!
Yeah, initials are IMMPORTANT. we were considering Sophie Olivia until we wrote it down...
Sophie
Olivia
Whitfield
...not a great idea.
P.
Could be worse. I worked for the Houston Symphony for a
time. One of the founding members was the unfortunate
daughter of James Hogg.
He named her Ima.
http://www.famoustexans.com/imahogg.htm
My surname being Guy, me an the better half are considering "Whadda" as a first name...
I can't believe he named her IMA HOGG! I bet she went through a lot of counselling for that!
OK, so my unusual name is not that bad...
Could do worse. I knew a old guy in Nashville whose last
name was Creamcheese.
We all called him Phil.
Turned out, his first name was Philadelphia. I found that
out at his funeral.
You've got to wonder why people name their children like that. Did they really hate their kid or what?
A son might not mind but..your daughter......?Quote:

You don't want to confuse the daughter like that.
But, your daughter could say that she's just one of the 'Guys'.
What is your son's name Shanea? Did you go the more traditional route....I didn't I wanted names that were a little less common over here. My son likes being the only Ian in the school.

Hehe
Brendan Michael We....
(Rather not put his full name out there...there's some strange people these days.)
His middle name is his daddy's first name.
Brendan is a cool name....not many of them around. He'll probably thank you for it later...Ian did.
I wanted to name him Brenner, and his dad wanted to name him Brandon. We had to compromise. I knew a guy named Brandon that I didn't like much. He's going to hate us when he finds out what his name means though. Brendan means "Smelly Hair".
Are you serious? I wouldn't broadcast that if I were you...poor kid!
Well, my soon-to-be mother-in-law told everyone in the family at the hospital right after he was born, so I don't think it would be a surprise to anyone. We went to Barnes and Noble after I got out of the hospital to get one of those "Babies and Year 1" books, because since I was on bedrest for a while and he was born 4 weeks early, I hadn't picked one up yet. WHile we were there, we checked all of the baby names book to see if she was right, and only about 50% of them had that meaning, so I will have to make sure that he sees one of them that doesn't.
Brendan is a great name anyway....It's how he wears the name that matters not what some book says!
He's going to be a little heart-throb anyway...He's really long for his age, so he will probably be tall like his dad. And he got his mom's blue eyes and blonde hair. He has a naturally dark complection too. Looks like he's been in Hawaii for a couple weeks. He has the cutest smile with a dimple too.
Sounds adorable!
I suppose everybody talks about their kids that way though. We are in the process of learning to walk right now. We are crusing furntiture and free standing for a couple seconds, so it shouldn't be much longer. There is nothing left anyway in my house below waist level. Everything we owned before he was born was glass, and when he plays, the more noise the better is his motto, so the glass doesn't go over very well. How many kids do you have?
I have three kids. They are 14, 16 and 18. The two oldest are boys and the youngest is a girl. I'm very proud of all of them....I think they're a great bunch!
We are hoping to get pregnant with #2 sometime around August this year. We are hoping for a girl. If it is a girl, she'll be named Kaylee Mae (Mae is my middle name). If it turns out to be a boy, we have no idea what the name will be.
What is this, a mothers' meeting? Err... oh yeah
Well, join in then Harry :D
Are comments from the other side of the parent allowed?
I take it you have no children?
Well...it would be a bit early since I'm only 17 :)
Harry and Parksie........when you have kids you'll understand why we are so proud of ours!
Not a mother's meeting...father's are welcome too.
I like little kids anyway - especially babies because they don't really care what you say, as long as you smile at them :)Quote:

And feed them... Food (especially fruit snacks)can cure almost everything
Well I don't have any kids that I know of
I agree with the weird name thing btw, I don't think I've ever met another Harry. Not one of my age anyway, there's a few mini-Harry's running around nowadays it seems (as I said, so far as I know they're not named after me ;)) but I think that's because of Prince Harry. I was, of course, the original though.
Actually I was christened Henry, but everyone has always called me Harry for some reason.
There aren't many Katies around here either. I like it that way...no confusion.
There's about 4 Katie's in one of my classes...to prevent confusion we have Katie, Kate, Kathryn, and Kaz (don't ask).
Lunch time!!!!!!! The day's half over!
You must be farther west than I am lunch was over an hour ago here.
Mine's almost gone. Just got to the bit where Ben Affleck's about to die.
Oh...wait...no he doesn't...Bruce Willis will...(watching in a little window).
I have never met another Dennis...... and everybody always spells my name wrong....
First:
Denise
Denis
***** (that wasn't really a mistake... she was just being mean )
Last:
Wren
Wen
Wenn
Ren
Renn
