Reasons why you don't play wow

I think we should start to make a list now...but the reasons are just too long I don't think one post can contain them! :P

1. Pay to play
2. After you finish the game, what do you do then?

4. WAYYYYY too time consuming
5. I have a life.

Now, someone else post their reasons why you don't play wow and we will form a huge list!
Then we can present them to someone who plays wow, and tell them to make a list of reasons why to play the game. :)

Fyi, wow is short for world of warcraft, a MMORPG.

I have a guy who works for me who was seriously into World of WarCrack. He's burned out on it now, but it was a daily topic for a while.

I don't play it because I have a life.





...no, that's not really why. :(

I played it for a while (until level 40) then my windows box crashed and I reformatted with linux, haven't looked back and don't feel like making it work with wine or anything else. =)

Number 1 reason for me quitting WoW: The community. I HATED everyone on that game, especially once I got to higher levels and had to use vent to communicate - hearing the players made me hate them even more.

I don't play WoW because I just logged out.

I don't play WoW. Isn't that enough?

The reason I don't play wow, is that... i don't have HD specs and graphics card

i can play. I can get it for free. (if you read my XBOX thread you would know that my uncle helped make it).

I just dont understand spending all your time on a website, spamming it up all day long and all of that... (VBF is an exeption..)

So is SFX if you'd been paying attention..

I hate wow players, 99% of them always talk to each other like this:

Wow player 1: "Hey dude whats up?"
Wow player 2: "nm I just reached level 70"
Wow player 1: "Thats cool, I just got the sword of idontknowwhatimtalkingabout"
Wow player 2: "No way! I always wanted that sword!"
Me: "shut up no one cares!"

About a week ago, a wow player (and a co-worker, actually just co because he doesn't do much work ;)), came to the CS lab where me and a couple kids hang out and was talking to an ex-wow player and was like "yeah I just did a raid". I almost yelled out "he doesn't care! Can't you see that!?"
Then I start to talk to someone about a recursion problem...
He comes over and writes "hi" with his greasy fingers on my laptop screen.
What a *****.

Seriously how can you say doing anything in that game as a accomplishment?
Wow player: "Oh I just spent 20$ on a new time card so I can achieve level 80!"
Me: "And?"
Wow player: "Got any spare change for lunch? I spent my last dollar on that time card".

I think I should make a MMORPG and make up crazy items in game and sell them for real $$$.
100$ for a sword that can kill anything....but it can only be used once!

1. I don't have an internet connection at home.
2. I don't have an installer of that game.
3. I don't bother to buy one.
4. I don't have enough resources.
5. I hate MMORPG.

I'm still stuck with Starcraft. :lol:

I play C&C 3.

Started playing Eve online. Seems ok so far

I dont play w0w for one main reason, to explain I need to take you on a journey into my family...

My mother and her partner moved in together march 06, me and my sister moved in as well. Well I moved out into my flat but now and again I pop back to see how its going, to terroris my dog and collect mail etc. The lame thing is people (her partner) get so hung up in the game when I ask "Hey dude hows t going", he either says, "Not bad, just got to level 70" or totally ignores me, and 99% its the later of those options, I mean how difficult is it to stray from a game developed for kids to say "bye".

Bah

1. Not interested in that style of game.
2. Not enough time to play games as there is usually too much else to do that is interesting.
3. Never heard of there being as golf course available, or snooker or pool etc.

That's why I only play single player games. Elder Scrolls IV:Oblivion is far better in my opinion and much easier to walk away from. Just save and exit. Simple!

Coming from a seasoned WoW vetran, yes I spent the time to build two characters to 60 and I was that guy that rushed home everyday because I had to be in a 40 man raid in hopes of getting one piece of gear that may enhance my character so minimally that it was unnoticable. I did my time, I got involved, and one day I snapped... I really did. I just stopped what I was doing, uninstalled the game, and cancelled my account and haven't looked back.

I'm gonig to use this as an open "forum" <-- pun intended to repent for my sins of WoW. Things I have done for or during WoW that I'm not proud of:

1. Purchased gold on a regular basis at a rate of about 126 USD to 1000 gold.

2. Stayed up all night playing WoW in hopes that work wouldn't be too bad and I could find some where to sleep in between doing tasks just so I could go home with enough rest to rinse and repeat.

3. Raided with 39 other idiots from 5:00 PM Central to almost 2:00 AM 6 nights a week if not 7.

4. Pulled other people into it with me.

5. Learned a database of acroymns that would rival any military list in order to be able to talk in that game.

6. Talked to these people on TS or Vent and listened to them arguing as if we were all in the same room standing over something tangible that could be taken and used. The only down fall is they were arguing over pixels.

7. Purchased a program called WoW Glider to play for me while I was at work. As if I wasn't playing enough with my 40+ hours I had to have an automated program to level for me and farm for gold.

All in all WoW is the devil. Don't get me wrong. I love the game... I'm lazy, don't like to move a lot, and like other people like to feel a sense of accomplishment. WoW provided that accept for one small detail... LIFE.

What blizzard determined as an acceptable amount of game time to accomplish goals calculated into almost more then 40 hours a week. Who in their right *&#%$(%@&$ MIND has that much time to dedicate to something that just basically DOES NOT MATTER in the grand scheme of things. If anyone in my company mentions WoW I do my best to become an advocate against the very fiber that drives it.

You know its bad when people have babies die because they were too wrapped up in a stupid game.

I chose life!

I don't play any games online because I'm a programmer. Programmers don't have time for such trifles.

I have it, but its just the same old sh*t all over again, and I cant stand those movie clips after every mission, plastic armor anyone?
And to be honest, the graphics arent that impressive.

I still play WoW, but since the latest expansion i've cut back a lot of my playing time. I've started working out 4 days a week and trying get some form of a life again.

1) Alot of people take losing a duel way too seriously.

I remember when I dueled a mage as a rogue and he got all pissed at me cause I used stealth. Even ignored me for it.

I've got to love beating Rogues to death with my Warrior :D They're normally like "***, how can you see me?" Truth be told i have no idea how i can see them...

Anyway, not playing because it's not installed any more.

I play with my lock every now and then. Bounce around like an idiot, keep out my fel hunter and constantly spam Tab+Curse of Agony. Haven't played much anymore though. My main computer is going to freeBSD (the one im on, it's downloading now) and I'm shutting off my account.

I don't play WoW cause Guild Wars is pay-only-once and I'm cheap. Sometimes I'm also easy.

i now have 65 people. and they play themselves, i only check a minute every week. :rolleyes:

Guild wars... What I ever did was made a character and made her wear nothing but undies and let her dance in front of a sitting guy character all day.

Have to agree. Never saw the appeal of them.

Although I like the new LOTR games strategy. The game itself is £1/$1. After all they make their money from the subscription fees. Great idea! :thumb:

I don't play WoW because it' doesn't have the wow factor.

I dont play WoW because I dont have an internet connection right now.

Woulda had me fooled...

You guys need to play more Transport Tycoon Deluxe. It's not got any monsters in it, but its fun.

Its fun for the first 5000 hours then it gets repetitive :afrog:
