No, the majority (if not all) of current MVPs on VBF have received it from Microsoft for their work on VBF and not MSDN Forums. :)
I think we have around a dozen current MVPs :D

Its not up to me. Its all explained in the links I posted for you (#36) on the Microsoft website. The details of how to become an MVP are not known but the general points of interest are on the ms site links. ;)
