From what ive alwasy heard is we are way behind what the rest of the world pays for gas...
its 2.94 here for the cheap stuff.. (Western NY)
actually just drove up from NC and the lowest I saw anywhere was 2.89!!
used to be at least .60 cheaper in NC.. not any more..

Gas (petrol, desil, et cetera) are going up all the time in England.
The reason that the USA is lower then the rest of the world is because we have our own refineries and process the crude oil ourselves. Thus, saving costs.
Where can I find gas for that price in CA? Wont happen. Try adding just over a $1.00 and you will be at our prices of $4.04 a gallon. Cost me at least $50 a tank and it lasts for about 4 days.
By Memorial day its supposed to be around $4.50 and sometime during the summer its expected to go above $5
We're going to be breaking $3 soon. If I want to visit my family, it costs me almost $100 in gas round trip.
so.. it'll be $4 here in no time..
im glad I have a Scion TC and the wife drives the MDX cause she doesnt go anywhere...
that really is lame... and here we are with our dirty little fingers wound around the necks of the people of Iraq.. cant we sneak a pipe or 2 in there get a couple hundred tankers full? no one would even notice!??? LOL
seriosly though... its really http://www.vbforums.com/
It's about a £1 a litre here. Roughly $1.79 or €1.44.
And that's nothing. Then you consider that my parents are GPs. They have to travel all the time
Yep... and thats over $8 per gallon.
I think we should stage a protest by burning gas.
Isn't that counter-productive?Quote:

Ya but you guys dont have all the refineries that we do. So that drives the prices up. Whenever there is an accident or explosion at a refinery the prices go up at least .50 - 1.00. :(Quote:

some idiot spills a gallon on the refinery and the price goes up..

They had a report that motorcycle sales are on a major rise in an effort to save gas.
Next we will have to all be riding bicycles like the Chineese do. :(
We have some refineries, and a source of crude... but we don't get the low prices that you guys do - we haven't got the political muscle. :(Quote:

I am doing my part by not going to work. I save allot of $ on gas but when I do drive it costs me big time. :(
Maybe we should have a gas protest?
I would ride a bike to work as well.. but.. only if I had no car and no money...
and it wasnt raining.. or cold... or snowing.. or windy.. foggy... icy.. cloudy..
clear and sunny 65+ degrees :)
I bet somebody already invented cold fusion. But they probably got killed by the interests that be.Quote:

The main reason our gas prices are so high are 3 reasons:
1) Environmentalists. Thanks to them tree hugging hippies, we haven't had a new oil refinery built here in America in over 25 - 30 years. More refineries would mean more oil (hence more gas is made) to meet the demands of us consumers.
2) Issues between us and Iran. Or so the newspaper says. However it sorta makes sense. If we get into conflicts with other countries who sells us goods, they are bound to price gouge us.
3) Oil companies purposly price gouging us just so they can keep their multimillion dollar salleries. Even coming up with excuses to up prices such as hurricane Katrina.
The gas will run out eventually - pretty quickly if the prices are too low. High prices just mean that people work harder to find alternatives.
Kyoto anyone? ;)
Naw, we just need teleportation pods so we can instantly beam around to whereever we need to go. No gas needed, no traffic, environmental savings, time savings, and the list goes on and on. :D
Cool, get on with it then!!
Not to mention the fact that about 70% of what we pay for petrol in the UK is tax.Quote:

My job is .8 miles away from the house :D, but that means nothing when you consider the fact that I delivery food all over the city , so no "real" savings...Quote:

It costs so much because you all drive hugh cars that guzzle petrol so demand is high

8 MPG here I come! :D
They said in the news paper that they are hitting the magic number 15NOK for one liter in Oslo now.
so if all numbers I checked now is coorect:
1 US gallon = 3.7854118 liter
1USD == 6,33NOK
15NOK/L == 8.97USD/Gal
in oslo
can this be right? Seems ironicaly since we have the biggest oil reserves in europe ++.
Its because you guys have to pay all that tax to the Queen. :D
Edit: Congrats NoteMe on 10,000 posts! :thumb:
We pay to the king, the king pay to the queen...;) We are not lack of a queen like that 3rd world country that island in the west is..:)Quote:

we're at €5,45/US gallon (which is about $6,76) for regular.
Just heard on the news this morning that Boise Idaho has the lowest gas prices in the country at about $2.50/gal. They were also saying that we are supposed to lose that distinction promptly.
I have been checking this site everyday....http://www.gaspricewatch.com/new/Quote:

Give it a few months and I think we're easily going to see $100/barrel.
