Im just jealous. I am starved for recognition of my rude ways. Conrats yo!
congrats :D
Now adopt my liberal views.
Gosh, they seem so difficult to obtain too. Congratulations, Brad has chosen well.
Whoa, that's awesome. Grats!
Yeah, and only slightly less random than the Champion's League Draw
I know that Mendhak has one - not sure of others on the forum...
Congrats Steve! :thumb:
The other MVPs from last years award on our site are:
Hack
Mendhak
Plenderj
There is a previous member receipient - SuperSparks.
I'm honored to be on such a list! And to think I was just a lowly mainframe BASIC programmer 5 years ago :)Quote:

Well that proves it - after about 11 posts a chit-chat thread falls to pieces!
lol, This deserves to be in World Events!
Congrats - use your powers wisely and a seat will be saved for you in the great drinking hall of Valhalla :)
szlamany - Sweet! I just got notice of mine today too.... Same category. Still hasn't fully sunk in as to what it all means, but looking over the other inductees, company is good.

TG - congrats :thumb:
Congrats TG! :thumb: Another well deserved recipient! :afrog:
Congratulations everyone :) - it just goes to show that you are worth a lot more than all the other posters in this thread. So, wholly in the fame and fortune, brag about it and ridicule other members not fortunate enough to have MVP status.
Btw, the only reason I'm not an MVP is because I was not nominated and chosen by Microsoft. This proves that you must stand out even more than a green, radioactive pathogen from mendhaks left nostril to get it.
congrats :thumb:
Don't know if it will make even worst for you VA but afraid I'm going to join the party too. :)
Bonker Gudd has an MVP award.
:thumb: all round.
Congrats again RB! :D
w00t w00t! Finally got my MVP email message too! So that makes 5 VBF members so far for this year.
Thats a good thing. They have finally nominated someone who isn't totally insane :pQuote:

Hmmmnnn.... Do I have to reach 30+ before I can get such award? :D
Congratulations to all of you guys, you people rocks! :afrog:
Looks like I'm getting Visual Studio Pro. Seemed like a trick question. TechNet is free to VS owners. :)
Don't do that - get TEAM STUDIO - it's got all the features of the other plus the TEAM products as well...Quote:

But the thing is that if you dont get the award next year then you have to pay the renew price on TS instead of Pro. Big $$ difference.
I looked it over, and if I need it, I can always upgrade, and get people to kick in for the difference in price.
It's all about playing with the new toys - next year will take care of next year all by itself ;)Quote:

Just like I said - next year will take care of itself...
I had MSDN 5 years ago - then switched to ACTION PACK - now I've got a customer that can afford to buy software for me - now I've got MSDN again for free...
Who knows what will happen next year? But I'm sure it will be exactly what I need...
True, I plan on becoming rich this year so I opted for the TS. :D
How long does it take to see your profile? I can see yours but not mine yet.
It's nice to know we have a Nostradamus in house. :) :thumb:Quote:

I still need to fill in all the blanks though.

Mine showed finally after about an hour or maybe it was just my eyes? Oh well at least it posted finally. :D
Should I use my Gangsta Yoda avatar or my smilie?
Ps, :thumb:s on the published articles. :)
Actually, still MVP, but that shouldn't change dinner habits ;)Quote:

Congratulations everyone that is receiving MVP awards. I've been pushing hard since I was given management of this forum, and it is great to see a larger number of people get the awards here. I know people from Microsoft review this site on a regular basis (consider that as you are posting in appropriate things in chit chat).
As an FYI to those that don't know, The Microsoft MVP is an award given for what a person has done over the prior year. It is an award that comes with no expectations for the coming year and no strings. It is also a designation that only lasts for a year, so next year you'll either get the award again - or you won't. I was just renewed for the third year (whoo hoo!).
Additionally, the award is done based on a topic area. For example, I'm a Microsoft MVP within the Visual C++ area. I'll speculate that most of the people here on VBF are for VB 6 or Visual Developer - VB.NET.
A note to those that got the MVP award -- not all MVPs get the option of the Team Suite MSDN subscription. Only the techie ones. As such, in my opinion, it is the product to latch onto if you have that option.
Again, congratulations to those receiving the award! Continue the great work here on the forums and hopefully you'll continue to be an MVP for years to come! For those that didn't get nominated or awarded, you can note that Microsoft gives out new awards quarterly.
Brad!
I dont know if he got one allready but hopfully out of people on this site who so far arn't MVPs I would like to see John Mcilhinney rewarded for his work in the VB.Net forum next time round.
Well done to all.
Hello all,
I should introduce myself, my name is Ed Hickey and I am the mysterious guy at Microsoft who is responsible for Visual Basic MVPs in the US. I nominate a great many of the people who end up getting awarded, and do a lot of work in reviewing those who get the award (and those who don't, as well). Brad's description is very good, it is simply a "thank you" for the effort you put in last year, and does not carry any strings or guarantees that you will be awarded again next year.
If you have any questions about the award, or know of someone who should be nominated, feel free to drop me a line (edhickey). As I have to look at the ENTIRE VB community each quarter (all the newsgroups, websites, forums, conferences, User Groups, authors and articles), I can use some help. You know who the MVPs are here, if you see someone of similar caliber, let me know. I can't guarantee that the nominee will get awarded, but I certainly can't award someone who I don't know about!
Cheers,
Ed
Congratulations to all of you who became MVP's :D
It's nice to see some of the 'stars' of this site get the recognition they deserve, and for those who deserve it but didn't get it this time I'm sure your turn will come. :thumb:
edit: thanks for that Ed, I'm sure you'll get a few hints from various members here ;)
Ask me in April. :afrog:Quote:

Only until March 30th. After which you have to added "April Fool!" at the end of your sentence.
