it says patent pending.. so they DO want to make that right?
I believe so. It sure is one hell of a cool concept.Quote:

That's a great idea (assuming your software supports it, I'm pretty sure VB6 won't ;) )
But what happens if you hit a key too hard and it breaks the display??
Lol, I guess we will have to start treating out keyboards with respect. No more out heads against them or throwing them against walls when we can't code something properly.
Of course, thats never happen to me. I always code everything write the first time. I don't even use the IDE's runtime features. I just write it and complie it. It always works. :)
...sweet!
I think I just soiled my self.

www.thinkgeek.com has a few nice keyboards (Das Keyboard has no markings on the keys at all and there's an LED illuminated one which is uuuuuber cool) but nothing on this scale. Can you even imagine how much this thing would cost?
It'd need internal Ram and a separate power supply to run the screens. Probably have to be Firewire or USB2 if its going to have animated keys (I'd sell both my lungs and a nut for this keyboard).
Just imagine if it was programmable too! Let it have its own device context (hDC) for each Key and magical things would be possible. You could do effects like on slot machines where you get light patterns running all over it and ....
*runs to the bathroom*
Heheheh you could have a VBF'ers avatar on each key corresponding to the letter.
Wossy on "W", SLH on "S" and so on.
I'd probably pay $500 for this if its programmable.

BTW everyone that gets a keyboard like this in the future has to add ÆØÅ to their keyboard..:)

That is seriously cool :p
imagine it was like them dance things. Where the keys light up and you press to the beat, give your fingers a full workout!
Good idea Madboy! You should patent that
Why do people use WASD its the most stupid thing ever
ESDF > WASD
Wonder if you could play a video across the keys? :D
it could play music to the extra terrestial beat :)
All that AND it will transform into a robot to protect us from the decepticons.
nice.
oh really!!! very nice

Even worse! :/ (Unless you are left handed?)
I like to have more keys around my fingers, which WASD doesnt give you as many (I dont really count the capslock as a key either)
just imagine, you could use the space bar as a progressbar!!!
Or even jsut as a generic message scroller, you could set up the Time Square ticker RSS to run across it.
OMG I need one of those right now. Don't care how much it costs.

True, he needs room on his desk for his secretary lie down.
You're not a person that doesnt have the keyboard in front of the monitor? ack, cannot stand bending my neck like that

I never look at the keyboard anyway...so I am never bending my head....
So you sit with your head and body orientated towards the monitors and your hands to the side, weird still!
Why move it for playing?
^ Game Nazi!
noteme, if you're going to do that..why not use the arrow keys?

could it be used as a surfboard
I would imagine you could have news flashes across your space bar too! SWEET!
"5 New Mail"
"25KB/s 57%CPU CPU: 45C HDD1: 34C"
etc
:D
Having a keycount in the corner of the spacebar counting up live as you type would be ACE :D
haha you need to email them and give them that idea;)
Awesome Keyboard....errr Synthesizer:

The 88 key one costs $8500!!! And uses the Linux OS
Rather it just be scriptable so I could do it myself and use it with TKC or something, showing SETI stats might get some people going (or whatever its called now, bionic?)Quote:

Sure, but then you usually have a problem finding a place to insert the cable to get power afterwards.
Maybe we should just abort, and buy this one instead: http://www.unitedkeys.com/tech/index.html
PS: Cander, hope you noticed that the price is not announced yet on the Optimus..;)
Yes it has. $1200 like I saidQuote:

I am spotting sarcasm in his post because of the sarcasm he got in the comments in the blog entry the day before.

He may want to learn what sarcasm means if he is trying to be sarcastic. Reporting false information isn't sarcasm.
Yeah. I have no clue what that company is doing.
DO NOT SEND THEM A PENNY! If they even had a semi functional prototype, or at least a good blueprint, they would not need preorder money. The Venture Capital flowing in to them would be coming out of their ears. These guys are either A: Retards who drew a cool picture of a keyboard in Photoshop but have no engineering skill, or B: Scam Artists.
Again, Do not send them a penny! This thing has been out there for how long now?

Hell I'd drop a lot more it if it would get the original concept product out. Don't you think the big baller VC guys have checked these jokers out already? I smell BS coming from those guys and I suspect everyone else has as well.Quote:
