(XP) Nope can't get it to do that.
Doesn't do it for me either.
ok, try this document.
Open it up, place your cursor somewhere, and save it. Watch the cursor.

Becuase my HTML/PHP/MySQL teacher uses a laptop and a projector. Every time he tries to save a document he touches the touchpad, and he doesn't even notice it. And the cursour moves on the screen. Then he starts to type, and the document always gets screwed up...:D....

I'm pretty sure I'm not doing that... I have an external mouse. :DQuote:

This happens at my work PC too
Does it jump like a frog...
I tried that file too and its OK on my PC at work (win2000).
OK, OK
One last shot at this:
Open up notepad, and save it somewhere.
Type sdlkfjsadlfk, and copy it. Then start pasting it, paste it several times. Just press Ctrl+V, and hold it for a couple seconds.
Now, Click File>Save, and watch the cursor carefully.
Well?
(crosses fingers)
Ohhhh my god...now I see what you meen....I actually nearly moved....or that is it blinked....but I guess that is normal...something you not are at the moment...:D
notepad doesnt seem to be written by the brightest..
open a large text file and do a replace all, replacing 'e' with 'r'
see how it manually runs through the document making the changes lol

didn't move for me, on an XP laptop!

Well, I didn't get the odity when I tryed back then. But I am writing in Notepad now, and I got it, and just wanted to tell Mendhak that he is not the one that is nuts here...;)
You mean I'm not the only one who's nuts here. :afrog:
We're talking about notepad.exe, not the other one. :DQuote:

Who cares about the cursor jumping back anyway
Those of us who write HTML or ASP or other similar text-intensive activities in notepad.
Boring sods
what is the other one? aren't they the same?
WordPad???
that would be the third one, i suppose.
What are you waffling on about
the three editors that I know about are notepad, wordpad, and edit
nothing about a different one - notepad.exe it's the same as notepad.
NotePad = Laptop?????
I get this all the time in Wordpad.... notably when I'm trying to work with a CSS file or an HTML file.
Tg
Notepad is the windows program :)
as is wordpad
I just broke notepad...try this:
1. Open up Notepad (not Wordpad, not Word or any other word processor)
2. Type in this sentence exactly (without quotes): "this app can break"
3. Save the file to your hard drive.
4. Close Notepad
5. Open the saved file by double clicking it.
w00t?
w00t? ;)

no installation ,hassles free .it opens every possible programming language file!!
Who cares about notepad++. Notepad it self opens every programming language. What kind of argument is that...:)
well just try it out ,you will love it .the one thing i like abt np++ is that it has syntax highlighting and that really helps and also it doesnt have bugs like the one u mentioned !!
Do you not read the comments in Digg articles.Quote:

Me neither...;)
I grew up with Edlin. :)
I have Visual Studio. I don't need syntax highlighting in some other program, unless it's for PHP.
But then there's that addin for VS.
This thread is just about 3 years old... no need to reply.
write = wordpad.
There's what i consider a bug in word and in fact riched32.dll, which it uses.
change the properties of any letter in a word (say for example, bold the "o" in orwell. if you are cursoring through a word, it shows the properties of the letter behind the cursor instead of in front of it. Very counter-intuitive.
