4096 proper posts.
As opposed to 4096 improper, garbled, un-understandable, corrupted posts.
how the heck did mendhak get one then?Quote:

If they use a 32 bit integer to store a users post count - the first person to reach 4,294,967,296 posts will have there count reset to 0 and they'll be a newbie again:bigyello:
Oi!
Your avatar sucks.
Use this avatar, it'll give off a better impression!
That's actually me -- its the best picture I had.
So where did you find that animated one?
I don't remember, it was on my desktop. If it weren't for Cameron Diaz, I'd have the rainy Agent Smith avatar right now
Go ahead, put this one up. It'll look great. If you're one of us, and if you want to play with us and if you want to be our friends, you'll do it.
Thanks --- I'm not one for graphics and stuff as you can see from my last Avatar. It was actually a print screen from the quicktime trailer and then re-sized.
Alright Smith!
You ready for an ass kicking now? :)
Are you ready for the ass kicking?
Remember: "the best thing about being me. Is there's so many of me!!"
It ends tonight...
If everything that has a beginning, has an end, would we eventually be rid of Mendhak?
Nothing "ends." It is merely a lingual justification for consequence of choice.

only a couple weeks and i should be an "addicted member"... if the posts in here counted, i would probably be almost a "hyperactive member"
on HTMLForums, i have almost 3000 posts.. they have custon at 1101 i think
Say if i made 100 chit chat posts, then 64 proper posts, would i be a lively member, or would i need 164 posts? Are chit chat totally unruled and not counted?
Chit Chat post don't count towards your total.

Anyways, at this rate I will hit custom status in 2009.
Edit I mean, 2012. Counted wrong the first time. If this post was counted, I wouldn't be a Hyperactive Member anymore.
He refused to bite the moderator :pQuote:

I made the discovery today: that life lasts forever.Quote:

Because the only way we can comprehend the meaning of forever is to associate it with our own life span. So we live forever after all.
I dissagree
You comprehend light, because you can compare it to dark.
You comprehend sadness, because you can compare it to fun.
You know that your life it finite, therefore you can comprehend what forever is.
But can you truly understand it? Or do we just use it wrongly in everyday life?
According to modern science, nothing has been going on for an infinate time. Time started at the big bang and so no time existed before it. If we are headed for a big crunch, then time will end there. Time also ends in a black hole (or, behind ones event horizon at least).
So, do we truly comprehend forever?
We are not to know what is going to happen to the universe.
I do however believe that a lot of what we experience is derived in our head. Our perception of time for example is all in our head.
We experience this every night when we sleep. Our brains slow down and as a result our perception of time changes and although we may have been sleeping for 10 hours it will seem more like four.
Out perception of forever is a word we give for not knowing the end. We don't know where numbers end so we say they go on forever and we don't know when the universe will end and if indeed it does whether or not it will begin again.
Life is very similar becuase we don't know when we are going to die. When we do however we know that it will be the end of life as we know it on earth. We may go to heavan be reincarnated or just disappear.
Forever as we know and will only ever know it is the time in which we live.
If you are defining time as the time we live, then yes of course we live for ever. thats like saying X=2 therefore 2=X.
I also agree that a lot of what we think is derived from our minds. For example, as Decart thought, if our eyes can sometimes decieve us, we must presume they always do. Leading on from this, how can we be sure the world even exists? Or even what are we? Impulses being sent down a spinal cord?
OK I know I'm sidetracking a bit here.
On point I just thought of:
If time is basically our life span, and our actions have consequences beyond our life span, then do we live beyond forever?
Maybe live is the wrong word.
...then do do our actions last beyond forever?
Is your name Martin Liss???

Hello visualAd,
MartinLiss has just replied to a thread you have subscribed to entitled - User Status - in the Chit Chat forum of
VBForums.com.
When I got to the thread your user name was Adidic so I thought maybe your name is Martin Liss.
Nope. When you have email notification turned on for a thread, or it's turned on by default, whenever anyone posts after you in a thread, you will get that notification. It doesn't have to be the last poster in the thread. So if your post was replied to by MartinLiss, followed by a number of other users, you would still get a notification only for MartinLiss' post and not of the subsequent posts. The email text should probably highlight this that the notified post may not be the last post, and that you will have to visit the thread page to view other replies.Quote:

There had only been one reply since my last post though.
Is MartinLiss a user then?
Or is it a customized name?
He is a user. More appropriately, you could call him the God over here :pQuote:

Well, he is a moderator (have you been promoted to an administrator yet, Marty?) here, and apart from the moderation skills he does seem to know a little bit of VB, API and that sort of thing that seems to go on here all the time....
.
My name is Martin Liss and in one of my less-creative periods I chose MartinLiss as my user name.Quote:

Can you change your username, or do you need Administrative rights?
Sorry - thought your user name was "Super Moderator" but that's your status :(Quote:

That's correct and then user names are only changed when there is a very good reason.
And when the stakes are sufficiently high :pQuote:

OK, that was a joke :) Seriously I think there have been just two instances where usernames of existing users were changed and I think it was done on the request of the respective users.
Frankly if you chose a bad username, the usual practice has been to create a new user account for your desired username and use that.
