I'm a Opera lover too

Opera owns IE in several ways, but it has some bugs and some forms and on pages doesn't seem to work at all, so I use IE to complement that.

But why Opera rules:

1. Mouse gestures (can't live without them)
2. Multiple pages in same browser
3. Saves all page url's when closing
4. Favourites pane - clearly rules IE when it comes to organising and accessing(and searching) url's
5. Speed - Opera owns IE
6. Memory - Opera eats quite a deal if you have tons of pages but a lot less than IE

there's a lot of other smaller details in addition to these that makes Opera a winner.

ANYWAY, apart from some rendering problems, which is really due to Microsoft's total ****ing of the actual HTML standards, it kicks ****ing ass.... :)

Of course...but I DO firmly believe IE is the best web browser...i like Opera's features a lot, but the engine plain sucks.

Someone on VBF should work on a browser that uses the IE engine but has cool features like Opera :)

Is that what they use in Netscape? If it is then it's even worse than opera. If you don't believe me, ask another hard-shelled member in particular...

if AOL starts using the Gecko engine I'm gonna have to design for that POS and I'm gonna die.

yeah right! you just think it is flawless because you are using that as the standard. If another browser doesn't render a page just like IE, well, it must be wrong? Hardly.. look at the w3c standard, and you see that IE does not render them flawlessly

Renders best than most. If I were arsed to actually INSTALL opera I'd show you how it doesn't obey the table widths one specifies. Among other things.

IE and Opera are both reasonably W3C compliant though...Gecko/Netscape has MAJOR issues.

Works fine in IE. Doesn't budge in Opera. Had to go with a regular old boring mouseover navbar instead of a fancy drop down menu.

:rolleyes: I hate netscape. Opera is TOLERABLE..but i wouldn't use it..Netscape is pure ****.

I know it may not be fair but that's the way the world is? Might as well use the browser that works best.

OMG, I actually agree with him. A comparision would would probably be drug dealers and drug users. Just because its being offered, doesn't mean you need to use it.

Thats a poor comparison crpt!

I know plently of ppl who can sort of code in say vbscript, html etc but dont know much about programming.
They dont know the difference they just use MS Frontpage and voila they have a web site they dont know anything about browsers and rendering and crap.
