Yes, I will not be here after this.
As seen strictly from my point of view, mind you, (since I'm still upset
enough to not be able to see it from theirs), two people in particular launched a personal attack against me. It wasn't in the spirit of joking or banter. It was meant to upset me. Checkout some signatures and locations if you doubt this. Then they rejoiced that they had achieved
their goals. It seems a constant thread that if you are American you are
not even worth listening to because you're obviously stupid. It is
constant. There is no way of just ignoring it because it's in every thread.
I even stated that I don't agree with a lot of our foriegn policy and I know
our president's a boob and I still get it from all sides. I'm just sick of
it. There is not one thread that I posted yesterday with the exception of
the golden chair that I was not immediately jumped upon. It's not worth it.
There are a lot of good people in VBF, yes. But I can't converse with them
without being harrassed by the people who aren't good.
As far as I can see, the people who are not so good in VBF are very unworthy
ambassadors of their point of view because all I can see is evil, hatred and
intolerance.....not exactly what the Islam religion is purported to be
about. Since my only education in their religion has been through them, I
have been left with a very bad tasting bigotted mindset towards certain members of the forum....not very nice but true.
That coupled with the immaturity of certain responses when it should have been just a dialog has led me to this decision. I don't know what happened to discussions without vitriol or ribbing without underlying sniping but it has left the forum....and so have I.

I perfectly agree with katie. I am 14, i have left the United States twice, both times to go to canada (which despite all the jokes is a really nice, if not cold, place). Since my school is full of a bunch of idiots that are all wasting their life smoking pot constantly anyway, i don't learn too much in school. I have learned a great deal about other cultures and religions through the interactions that i have had on this bulletin board. Lately I have been coming her much less though, in favor of boards where American's do not get bashed as much.
I remember on September the 11th, how originally i looked at the WTC thread, and saw an outpouring of support for the United States, and i felt truly proud to be living in a great country. Then that thread turned bad, people started saying they agreed with the terrorists, and that they were martyrs for the muslim faith. They did not die in the name of Allah, they died in the name of hate and evil, but thats not the point of this discussion. People on these boards do need to realize that they are representing their respective countries, and most of you are giving your countries a bad name by acting like complete and total idiots
There are quite a few really nice people on the boards, many of them very knowledgeable, and very good representatives of their nations. Most of these people have been hovering away from these boards, and most are members of a board that i visit often (http://www.pchelp.bz) where there is less political and religious tension. That board has trusted moderators, and an admin that is very active in the site (no offense John) and who has not let anyone go to far posting, but does not put up rules unless there is agreement by the regularly visiting members.
VBF is getting ridiculous, i think that there are too many people on the boards, and they are destroying it for anyone who comes here to ask a legitimate question. Though i do not always agree with moderatorship in Chit-Chat, I think that it is quickly becoming needed, though the moderators have stayed away from religious discussion as far as i have seen.
It is sad to see people like katie feel that they have to leave the boards. Katie is a really nice person, who is wise quite beyond her years (and she isn't all that young for those who didn't know) and has many a time offered great opinions on important matters that have come up on these boards. I hope that she will visit different boards that i am on, because i found it enjoyable to talk to her.
