It has to be Louis CK.
 Who?
Never heard of him/her.
Nor have I.
I like Dara O'Brien
Is that Conan O'Brien's wife?
Eh..... no....
Got to agree with DeanMc, Dara O'Briain is legend
Lee Evans too
Meh, I don't like Dara O'Brian. It's the same with Russel Howard, Frankie Boyle etc, I don't mind their quiz show comedy, but their stand-up is horrible.
I am really liking Rhod Gilbert at the moment... "A million candles, what the f*&k do I want with a million candles".
YouTube it ;-)
Yeah I'm not a big fan of Frankie Boyle's stand-up. Full of one-liners.
Dara is awesome though!
Bill Bailey!
I can't really say I have a favourite (all mentioned above are brilliant), but my least favourite is Andy Parsons. Possibly also Russell Howard too.
Fantastic Comedian !!Quote:
Bill Bailey!
Of current comedians I also like;
Ross Noble
Rich Hall
&
Dave Chappelle !!
Amongst others...
Many would say
Roy "Chubby" Brown
or
Billy Connelly
Roy "Chubby" Brown
ROY "CHUBBY" BROWN
are you serious, i have never laughed so little !!!
- Frankie Boyle absolutely slays me.
- Dara O'Briain is good too, although he's a bit predictable.
- Ross Noble is mildly amusing, but he labours a punchline until long after everyone has finished laughing at it. His TV shows are dreadful.
I do like Billy Connelly the most though, his old material is brilliant too.
Comedians like Jethro, Bernard Manning and Chubby Brown are not worthy of that title, because they are A) not funny, B) really not funny and C) openly prejudiced against everyone just for the sake of it. Happily though, one of those is dead.
Peter Kaye is good when he can be bothered to come up with new material, which is extremely rare. If you see two of his shows back to back (from the same tour) then you'll notice that they are EXACTLY the same, same gags in the same order with the same delivery. Phoenix nights is brilliant, Max & Paddy was not.
I agree, peter kay would have been amazing if not for the redundancy. Tommy Tiernan is brilliant too but only when doing his Irish material. Ive heard his international material and its a bit forced!
Eddie Izzard.
I like a man in a dress.
Ha ha oh yeah, the monkey in a tree!
Eddie used to be fantastic (my friends still quote his stuff from 10 years ago!), and I hope he still is after his long break for acting - because I'm gonna be seeing him live in a few weeks. :D
I got tickets to see him at the arena in Nexcastle. Can't wait
I used to Love Peter Kay but the fact is he has been using the same cliched material for years.
go in 't kitchen 'n put big light on.
That's why I said "Some" like comedians like Brown.
Anyway, good shout venerable, Izzard is awesome. Would love to see him live.
Maybe he'll be around this way soon.
Has anyone seen any of Dave Chappelle's standup, that guy cracks me up !!
He has loads of stuff on You tube !!
here is a little snippet on Kids Cartoons, however i wouldn't watch it in work with your speakers up !!

I'd say Russel Peters, he is just hilarious.
Yeah, Jeff Dunham is also brilliant! LOL!
Jeff Dunham is good in fairness
Russel Peters -- nobody cracks me up more on "race" jokes than he.
Wanda Sykes -- a bit political though.
Never heard of 'em
Jeff Dunham.... Russel Brant.... some of Dane Cook's stuff is funny... Robin Williams.... George Carlin (now there is a master).... and Gabriel Iglesias

George Carlin would fall in the best comedian not alive category.
Eh.... Best Comedian period.... dead or alive....

Cheech and Chong's stuff from way back made me laugh. Anyone remember Sister Mary Elephant and some of the other stuff they did back at that time. I think Jim Carey is very funny. I thought his work in Liar, Liar was very good. John Malkovich did a skit on Saturday Night Live a good number of years back that really broke me up. He can be very funny.
It all depends on what you as an individual find funny of course. You have to be into raunchy type comedy to think he is funny. I happen to think he is very funny (so not sure what that says about me). I was pretty upset when Lucky Louie was cancelled, it was a great show, filmed in front of a live audience no less.
Also his 'shameless' standup special is hilarious.
When it comes to comedians though, there aren't a ton of funny ones that are still alive unfortunately.
I don't really have one favourite but there is a certain bunch of comedians that I like, such as Dara, Ed Byrne, Bill Bailey, Stewart Francis, Rich Hall and many more.
I recently saw Al Murray on TV and I always assumed he was just some loud, annoying drunk bloke but he seems to be quite knowledgeable.
Yeah Gaffigan is funny when he does standup, I find him less funny when he is acting.
Jason Manford is good too
His Stand up is his best stuff, i think i have seen 2 of the specials in Washington & Sanfransisco, Genius !!!Quote:
You guys are such stand-up noobs.
Dave has been around forever, he had a TV show and been in many movies, had three hour long stand-up specials.
